We visited Norwich at the end of April for a few days and stayed at the Trowel and Hammer. It’s really handy for Norwich Town Centre and the Bus Station which are both only a couple of minutes walk. We stayed in Room 3 which was comfortable and certainly big enough for two of us for 5 nights. The owners/staff... More

We stayed for 3 nights, room 6 is a generous size, lovely and clean, with nice bedding and furnishings. Room cleaned daily, towels changed and tea/coffee topped up etc. Nicely cooked breakfast and we ate in one evening, food freshly prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Bonus is location so close to city centre, their car park is very busy... More

We stayed there for a Christmas shopping trip to Norwich. Really helpful from the moment we arrived - a parking place had been kept for us by placing another car there and moving it when we got there - simples! The room (no 5) was fantastic, far nicer that you would generally expect in a pub. As other reviewers have... More

We stayed for the weekend whilst having a break in Norwich. It is so convenient for the city centre and has a car park. We just strolled across the road into town. The room was very comfortable and pleasantly decorated and the cooked breakfast in the morning was very tasty and a generous portion. The pub downstairs is traditional and... More

We usually stay in hotels when we travel, and as this was our first time in an inn/guesthouse - we were a tad uncertain to say the least We were massively impressed by this place though. Traditional english style pub downstairs, but a couple of really well done up rooms upstairs. The room we stayed in was really nice, but... More

Arrived a bit early but, not a problem as he had saved us a parking place for our bike. Everything was new in the rooms & pub. The shower room was spacious & a great shower. The bed was comfy & there were extra pillows in the wardrobe, plenty of space for all our gear. Seperate door to the rooms... More

Had a lovely stay at the Trowel and Hammer 6th June 2014 staff friendly, no trouble with the car park, breakfast very good, excellent location and standard of room. Road not particularly noisy considering the central location. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Room was spacious, clean and recently redecorated with a nice ensuite. Pillows were weirdly hard but there were normal ones in the cupcoard. Location is very convenient - ten minute walk from city centre. Unlike others, we did not find the road particularly noisy. Breakfast was plentiful. We enjoyed our stay here and would visit again.
