I Booked this as a surprise Birthday treat for my boyfriend as he loves boats and I wanted a nice riverside setting. I booked a balcony room through activehotels.com two months previous. I received a booking confirmation number and thought all was ok. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were advised that there was no booking and all... more

Rang the hotel to book the advertised Friday night Steak meal and was told reservations could not be made. Arrived at 7.40 pm to find that they had ran out of steak and the meal was being replaced with Gammon as they had sold 25 meals. Wrote a letter of complaint which they haven't had the decency to reply to. more

Please please please, avoid this hotel at all costs. The only reason we couldn't leave this hotel was that we had to attend a wedding. The decor of the entire hotel needed re-doing, not updating, but re-doing. Initial first impressions when we walked in was that it smelt like an old man's pub, basically stale beer. Carpets were ripped, botch... more

The location is superb --right by the river. We called on spec and were given a 'suite' with a balcony overlooking the river. I must agree with some of the other reviewers in that the decor is tired in fact one could say the whole place is looking a bit shabby. It's in need of a few quid spending on it,... more

I have stayed at the Hotel Wroxham on many occasions and although the decor may be in need of updating the hotel itself can not be faulted! The reception area has already been totally transformed. The hotel staff are alwas very friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble! Any enquiry is always dealt with professionally even if it is... more

My wife and I have recently returned from a few days in Norfolk, staying at the Hotel Wroxham which is situated beside the river Bure in the village of Hoveton in the heart of broadland. Our en-suite room had a balcony which overlooked the river with all it's interesting pleasure craft activities. The hotel has a very friendly staff, from... more

Hotel rooms very 'tired' we paid £95.00 a night for a suite with a river view, the view is gorgeous, but the balcony layout is awful, you can only stand up to see the view at is best. For obvious health and safety reasons they have added an additional concrete slap above the original low rise balcony, but decerative ironwork... more

Never judge a hotel by its website! This looked lovely from the website and there seemed to be not much else in the area. One positive: some rooms (called suites??!) had a lovely view of the river. However, rms were very dated and shabby. Bad decor in anybodies book. Hotel lobby area was smokey and not a relaxing place to... more

We stayed at this hotel recently for a friend's wedding (not at the hotel). The location is good, staff friendly and the food was great and obviously popular with locals. Unfortunately the bedroom (room 8) was small, the bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was too small to be able to wash properly! Decor was outdated and the lightswitch... more
