Go over the bridge, down a country lane, take a left into a secluded tree covered driveway, breathe in, leave the stresses of life behind, and check into the Georgian Country House that is the Norfolk Mead Hotel. Owned by the welcoming, friendly and delightful Jill & Dom Fleming, both them and their staff make you feel like a house... more

The last review by the Hertfordians quite perfectly summed the hotel mead excellence up. My experience was similarly idilic. What a comfortable and charming hotel. Both classy and that normal vibe, so din't appear over the top. Lovely log fire too. Food - top notch. Situation fist class. Buiding - beautiful. And yes, as much as the owners and staff... more

We are writing to refute the most recent review of the Norfolk Mead which we feel was totally unrepresentative of our own experience. We were hardly able to fault this charming country house hotel, so near Norwich yet close enough to visit the north Norfolk coast and it's surrounding delightful towns and villages. Taking advantage of one of their wonderful... more

I definitely had an awful time out here; the lack of room service was terrible. There was no briefing or instructions on safety. I was forced to move rooms 4 times, the first occassion a hive of bees was present in the room, the second there was no heating, the third time I was actually happy with the room, however... more

Stayed here for a 2 day break back in January. We are fairly fussy travellers but could not really find a fault with the staff nor the hotel. Food was perhaps not as good as we have had on some occasions but this is picking nits really. Lovely quiet riverside location. All in all we would thoroughly recommend. more

Chose this hotel because it is pet friendly and wanted a night stopover while visiting local sites. We (all) were treated like house guests rather than paying guests. The location is near perfect with grounds bordering the River Bure, very quiet and peaceful. We were offered the beamed cottage suite a few yards from the main building, and were delighted... more

My Investment Club, a discerning bunch, had the whole hotel pretty much (22 of us) for Sat pm Dinner Bed & Breakfast at the end of January. We were very well catered for and nothing but positive responses from all members. It is tucked away somewhat, but quiet and peaceful when located. All rooms were lovely with the owners idiosyncrasies... more

Due to work commitments we could only take a local one night break away to celebrate a special birthday. What a lovely surprise to find such a hotel right on our doorstep. The room (garden room) was very comfortable with delicious little extras and our stay included dinner and an excellent breakfast. All staff were attentive and very professional. We... more

My wife and I together with our daughter and her partner have stayed at this hotel three times during the past two years. We return each time because we think it is so good. The owners and staff seem genuinely pleased to welcome us and are pleasant and helpful. We have used three different rooms between us and each is... more

We visited this hotel in May 2008 to see if it would be suitable for a party of ten to visit for a weekend in August. From the moment we walked through the doors and were met by the young receptionist Sam(male) we knew we had found the haven we were looking for. Sam took us on a tour of... more
