We stayed here for two nights on a leisure break booked directly with the Hotel. For £99 we had two nights B & B and dinner on the first evening. This was for two people (not each) and was a really good deal. Booking was easy and I was told we would get an executive room, which we did. The... more

Stayed on the leisure break. Excellent value. Can't fault the hotel at all. It is a bit difficult to find, but once there the location is excellent. Leisure facilities very good. Lovely pool. A minor critcism - having spent all the money on the leisure facilites, they should have installed power showers. Jacuzzi great. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Free... more

I stayed at this hotel for the second time with my boyfriend. We'd stayed before but not as long last time. The reception was helpful as we'd booked with a travel company and the rate was correct when it came to pay. This was sorted without hassle by the recetion staff even though a function was on and she was... more

I stayed here for one night, before sitting an exam in Middlesbrough. I am a little bemused by some of the comments as my stay was without problem. Granted, I was kindly upgraded when checking in, although I did not find any of the problems with staff attitude. I didn't need to use the restaurant, gym or extra facilities, so... more

We spent only one night at the Sporting Lodge. On arrival the check in was very quick, the room was spacious, clean and already lovely and warm on an exremely cold day. Both dinner and breakfast was very good. The hotel bar and lounge area is very comfortable with a very modern look! Service at the bar on an evening... more

After staying at the Sporting Lodge for several weeks, whilst working in the area, I became accustomed to the place and began to ‘accept’ the way things were. I think the key word for the Sporting lodge is ‘accept’. Each week check in was entertaining as every occasion something was incorrect. Be it my name, the agreed room rate, the... more
