Really poor hotel for example; room dirty, "crusty stuff" on the TV remote control, possible blood (?) in the bin, restaurant food cold and service poor. I spoke to the reception team to voice my concerns and they were not interested.

Stayed here over night on a weekend coach break. Was very impressed. The room we had on ground floor at back was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was soo comfortable. The food was very nice too. The staff very helpful. Could find no fault.

Went on a coach trip/weekend away with my mum for Mothers Day. (2 lovely days in Durham & Whitby) Typical chaos on arrival when staff had to check in a full coach party made worse by having to order what we wanted for the evening meal at the same time! Room clean & spacious with adequate facilities for a one... More

Room was slightly dated but spotless. wanted second night in same room (single) but guy on night desk said better to go online and book that way or wait until next morning, although was busy chatting to friends to talk properly . Wanting to secure my accommodation went on line that evening but only double available so booked double. In... More

Thank you for your recent feedback, I am pleased you liked the hotel, I must apologise for the mix up in extending your stay with our night porter, I believe this should have been explained better, it was because the night staff at that time were running the night audit at that particular time, this how ever should not have... I've been unfortunate enough to be booked in here twice by my employers. Front of house is fine and the restaurant really can't be faulted for quality. Staff are no problem. Then get yourself behind the doors to the accommodation and you jump back in time Threadbare carpets covering a potholed corridor lead to rooms which should have been refurbished... More

Nine of us went for the Mothers day lunch. We booked in advance and this was easy. Some of our party were held up in traffic so were a little late. The staff were understanding and held the table. We were eventually shown to our table and given a menu. We placed our order and got the starter which everyone... More

I stayed for two nights traveled from notts for a wedding had the worse sleep ever bed was so uncomfy pillows were like wafers.curtains smell stale. Being pregnant made my stay very uncomfortable.the tiles in... More

Reception kept me waiting 5 minutes to check me in then were very rude and arrogant. The corridor to my room had a filthy threadbare carpet and smelled musty. There was a chair in my room full of holes and absolutely filthy along with the rest of the room. The bed was old and dirty and sagged in the middle ,and the bathroom... The Sunday lunch carvery was excellent. A choice of soup or Yorkshire pudding with gravy, a roast meat dinner and a pudding for £7.00 is terrific value so I wasn't expecting much. However, the Yorkshire pud was huge with proper gravy in a little jug, the roast beef was pink, thick and tender with a good choice of vegetables. An... More
