Booked a one night stay at The Highfield- as my partner was partaking in night rally experience at nearby Sportech Motorsport. Booked hotel with Late Rooms .On the day of our stay I decided to have a look on TripAdvisor for reviews (I am myself a senior contributor on TripAdvisor ) - and I must admit I was rather concerned... I stayed in this hotel two weeks ago on business. From the moment I arrived it was can I say being as positive as possible disastrous. Upon arrival there was no one at reception eventually I was assisted by the Manageress an extremely rude and abrupt lady named Frances, I have never met anyone with such terrible people skills. The... More

Just checked in to the Hungry Horse and everything seemed ok until the bar sudden closed at 1105 with no warning. 'Go to a local bar' was the suggestion- 'but we're residents and it's 1105' - was our reply. Hopeless

Second room was much smaller but fine for a business trip, room was generally clean but needed a good dusting, I actually wrote clean me on the bedside lamp base thats how thick the dust... More

Ok we all know that Best Westerns vary quite a bit and this one is no different. The rooms are OK, mine had virtually no natural light, just a small window in a dark corner overlooking the bins. The room cleanliness and comfort was OK, yes I have a choice but my business is at the hospital very near by.... More

My son and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights so he could attend the university's open day. It was perfectly located for this purpose - approximately a 20 minute walk or five minute drive. The room provided (room 7) was rather small and had the smallest window over looking a brick wall and what looked like... More
