I stayed in the Andaz hotel on business and I have to say, it was one of my very best hotel experiences ever !!! The welcome was simply outstanding, staff were simply amazing, atmosphere was also fantastic. Clearly, the staff are well hired and also well trained. I love to see this and it is clearly a tone that is... More

Where can I begin? Our experience at the Andaz London was nothing but excellent. Originally, we were scheduled to stay at The Churchill but a few days before our arrival, the hotel suffered a gas explosion in the basement and 14 staff members were injured. Fortunately, no deaths occurred. Hyatt made arrangements to transfer our four-night reservation to its sister... More

I stayed at the Andaz (a Hyatt brand) over the weekend when I went to London to see a show. Being above Liverpool St Station means that it is only a few steps away from the London Underground and buses. It also means there is some noise from the overground trains that use the station (our room was on the... More

Room very nice size, great bed and complimentary water, juice and soda was nice touch. Located very close to tube and several bus routes. After enjoying many a cocktail at 1901 and the Champagne Bar over the years I had been wanting to stay at the Andaz Liverpool Street for a long time. Arrival was disorienting as it was difficult to tell if the desk in the Reception was the check-in desk or if it was an internet corner or a bar. After a... More

We'd stayed here a couple of years ago but until now, hadn't found ourselves in this part of London. However, we were really pleased to have a reason to return and had forgotten not only how vibrant the area around Liverpool Street Station is at all times of the day but what a great public transport hub it is. There... More

The not so great: - For a 5 star hotel and for the price, the rooms and bathrooms were small. -The constant hovering of the staff is a bit much. One would expect that they would know that in a five star hotel, one wants the option of service available but to have the privacy and not have it shoved... More

Although the hotel is impeccably clean, modern and reasonably comfortable, the Andaz Liverpool St was a bit too modern for my liking. Set on top of Liverpool Street station, there is a very city (and busy) feel about this hotel. Staff welcome you at reception with very modern and clinical demeanor. While it is very efficient and convenient for the... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
