This is a review from Gary, Joanne and little Olivia the Hancock party. This is the second time we have stayed at the Celtic hotel which is a stones throw from the Russell Square tube station. It is family fun by lovely family and the lady of the house Rose Anna is an absolute joy. Very reasonable rates, spotlessly clean.... More

This hotel is not a large fancy posh place, its a small, family run, friendly, simple, inexpensive home away from home, cosy b&b. Convenient to Russell Square and tube, restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals, movies, pub, Uni and British Museum. So close to the West End but far enough to relax away from the madding crowd after a long day sightseeing. Highly... More

The only good thing is how close it is to the subway station. Noisy rooms from outside and above. Wifi signal is horrible in rooms. Many hotels around and I am sure with such prices better quality can be found nearby. I highly don't recommend this hotel

It makes a nice change to stay in a well established family run business instead of a chain We stayed at the Celtic when it was St Margarets in Bedford St. This new location is so convenient to Russell St tube which can also take you to/from Heathrow. We stayed in an ensuite room. It was fairly modest but has... More

Celtic Hotel is a nicely decorated family owned hotel. The staff is very helpful and the location is perfect. You are at walking distance from many of the main attractions in the city and it is also very well connected with the tube. The only disadvantage that you might find is that there is no lift. There are many restaurants... More

I'm terrible at directions but had no trouble finding this hotel. You can see a big white and green sign for it pretty-much as soon as you exit Russell Sq tube station. We were welcomed by friendly reception staff and taken straight to our nice clean room. From their website and emails I was aware that they charge 3% extra... More

It's a good choice to stay in London. The price is good, and location is excellent. Save lots of headache if you need to drag luggage. I stayed in a single room without toilet but with shower. Not convenient but acceptable with the price. But it's a bit noisy when your neighbors walk around or open the door as the... More

Stayed at the Celtic as I needed a place to stay in London at relatively short notice and my usual, go-to places where all fully booked. The Celtic is conveniently located a few steps away from Russell Square tube station, close to the British Museum and other places of interest. I was not impressed with their booking system. You can... More

The Celtic is wonderful place to stay the staff was friendly and able to help answer all questions. The full English breakfast was tasty and filling a great way to start a day. Best value in the area.

Stayed here in June for three nights. We had a private room with built in restroom with shower and a view of the front street. The room was well furnished with TV, night stands, desk and chair, chest of drawers, closet, sitting chairs and (non-working) fireplace with mantel. London was warm during our visit but the two floor to ceiling... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
