I've just stayed in the Celtic for the fourth year in a row as the leader of a college study-abroad trip with 16 (American) students and an assistant. We love the Celtic and will always go back because of the lovely and caring people, the great service, the safe and quiet atmosphere, the great location (very well placed for exploring... More

A return visit thanks to my husband with our three sons and their ladies. A classic English hotel with lots of character, great breakfast and perfect location near Russell Square. This was our third visit and our kids' first and it was wonderful! Spotless and comfy I can't wait to return!

I came to London for the first time with a group of friends and I have to say the Celtic Hotel really enhanced my entire experience! It's a quaint and cute b&b that really made me feel like I was in the middle of British culture. The community style bathrooms aren't ideal, which is the reason for my 4 stars... More

This hotel is in a prime location for exploring London. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a sink in the room and a toilet and shower a half flight of stairs away. I never even saw another guest using either one so it was no problem. One tip, use the shower that also has the toilet in... More

Mrs. Marazzi has been a very charming host to me the last 30 years. Daily she is still present at the premises & likes to care for running the business. Excellent location in Central London, West End, close to Underground (Russel Square) & British Museum. "Ensuite" rooms (with shower) are not standard but available on early booking. The international traveller... More

Definitely for the budget traveler. The hotel has everything for the tourist; prime location, breakfast served restaurant style, reasonable prices, free wifi in the public rooms and a pleasant, helpful staff. We paid cash to avoid the 3% charge for credit cards. We were a few steps down from the sitting room in room 1. There was double bed and... More

Exit the Russell Square Underground, go left, left at first street and left again in 200 yards and you are there..This is a converted set of row houses and has quaint charm..But it is location, location and location that is great..Walk short way to British Museum and if you like to walk many other attractions are not far away. If... More

I stayed here with my two 10-year old daughters at the end of July 2015. We were at the hotel for eight days. We LOVE The Celtic and hope to return. This is not a deluxe hotel, but it doesn't claim to be. The rates quoted are for cash, which is made very clear at booking. The staff is charming... More

Quiet room near the back, a rotating fan which kept me cool at night, wonderful staff and especially the owner, Mrs. Marazzi. Location can't be beat and a sumptous breakfast. Stayed at St. Margaret's and Celtic for over 20 years. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!

We were twice, once for 9 nights and then one night on our way back. We are a family of three, my husband I and my 17 year old son. We got a room with 3 beds in it, a shower and a bathroom. It was cozy but perfect. Our room was nice an quiet. My family loved the large... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
