This is the second time I've used Marling Apartments and each time I've had a good stay. More and more I prefer apartments given the flexibility they offer. The facilities they provide are excellent, with sufficient cooking equipment and crockery to make life comfortable. Empire Square is ideally located for a trip to Borough Market, London Bridge etc and if... More

Stayed for new year 2015, great location and has underground parking but apartment was tired and in need of updating, wasn't dreadful but not as nice as Marlin apartments on tower bridge. The "borough underground" was just across the street so perfect for getting around, we paid £25 for a family of four two adults and two teenagers for an... More

I'd like to recommend these apartments because right from the moment of booking the customer service was excellent. Emails were responded to the same day. The apartment was amazing with everything so well equipped. There was a Tesco Express for everything we needed and Borough Station 3 minutes away. It makes an excellent base. Car parking was most handy and... More

We had a 2 bedroom apartment for one night and for a family of 5 it works out very reasonable. The quality of the rooms, decor etc is far better than you could get a hotel when there is 5 of us. Parking under the block is easy, and reasonable. The location being so close to the South Bank is... More

Stayed for 4 nights in early December in a one bedroom apartment. Son and daughter-in-law stayed for one night on the sofa bed and they hardly slept as it was so uncomfortablet. As with an earlier review I was told by reception to email my complaint and perhaps we could get a refund. I was also told that the sofa... More

I stayed here in a 2 bed apartment with 4 friends. We paid £105 for use of the sofa bed for 2 nights. It was hideous , extremely uncomfortable and I could feel every spring. Asked reception if I could have a spare duvet to cushion the mattress but apparently they didn't have any! Expressed my dissatisfaction to the receptionist... More

We were travelling as a family of 5 adults and one baby and stayed for 8 nights. The apartments are modern, clean and in a great location. Proximity to London City was great and found ourselves in the city quite often as we were so close. Value for money was amazing and I would highly recommend this hotel and would... More

having stayed in a number of hotels across London and never really feeling like I use any 'hotel' perks like room service etc I wanted to see if we could get somewhere around the same cost but some real living space .... We booked for a weekend stay and found the apartments great value. Using 'Park at My House' we left our car near Brent Cross underground and took the Northern Line to Borough about 500m away we found Marlin. We could not book in until 3pm but could leave our case at reception and go out. The apartments are well situated... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
