Booked an exec with large balcony... Great view, good size apartment, great location.... On the down side the apartment was filthy, hairs all over the bed, dust and fluff on the floors, empty yogurt pots left from whom ever prior to me... Fridge was filthy ,,, utensils still had food on them... NOTHING was clean ..... The guys at the... More

The price was right for the Marlin Apartments; however, don't expect the service of a hotel. The apartment building is a bit tough to find if you are not familiar with the area. It's a close walk from the borough tube stop. The neighborhood is definitely not touristy. There is a grocery store next door which was great! In terms... More

Our worst stay in all of UK. Staff are hopelessly disorganised and slow. It took 30 mins to be advised we had No booking, followed by Our 'room had been flooded so No apartment available'. We insisted they had the booking as it had been confirmed, we were given one finally. On return home we find an additional 200GBP c/c... More

Stayed here twice before location is the best near everything major in London and is always lively. It's near Borough market for breakfast or for fresh produce to make your own. Kitchens are big and have all the utensils you would usually need and coffee machines. This time we booked a room with a balcony. The balcony are disappointing and... More

We are regular visitors to London and have always stayed in hotels, decided to try an apartment this time. The receptionist was quite insulting when my husband enquired about local restaurants, saying that the Shard was good but very expensive! did he think we could not afford to eat there? The communal carpets were stained and food that had been... More

Arrived in the evening and waited for 15 minutes at reception. No greeting or apology when the receptionist arrived. We had the printed document of payment and 2 cards of proof of identity at hand - we were told it was not enough and they would not check us in. It was most distressing having to argue your case to... More

Would highly recommend staying at these apartments. Great location - it is close to Borough tube station and lots of local amenities. Worked great for the family as it had loads of living space, much better than staying in a hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a visit to see my daughter who lives a coupe of minutes walk away and it was really convenient for us. Location is brilliant with Borough Tube station is 2 mins walk and it is a short walk to Borough Market and less than 30 mins to Tower Bridge. We had a Premier... More

You could not wish for a better apartment from which you can walk into Central London and enjoy the sites. We personally visited the site of the 2012 Olympic Games. Only problem was it rained whilst we were there, but not Marlins fault, just the English weather!!

Stayed here while in London celebrating our grandaughters 5th birthday. What a lovely place to stay. So central for everything we wanted to do. Lovely views over London from the 5th floor apartment. Very well equipped and lovely bathroom and ensuite and very reasonable price. Also the underground parking was very reasonable and convenient considering the area, Staff very pleasant... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
