Nice, clean and new apartment, very close to Metro station, food market next door, large and very well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and TV set. Reception desk people was very nice. We recommend it for few days stay in London.

Had a two bedroom apartment for the weekend. Very spacious with two double bedrooms one bedroom with an en suit. We stayed on the 3rd floor which was fairly quite but no few of the shard. Good kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and oven. Ideal to stay with friends instead if a hotel. Doors are really heavy so slam... More

Our second time staying in what is a positive alternative to a hotel room. Ideally situated for Central London with two stations nearby but a good walk will get you to many sights. Our apartment contained most of what we needed, was spacious and in good condition. Car parking on site is very useful. The local area is OK and Borough... More

Front desk staff is clueless. Not helpful with anything. Don't bother calling... they don't answer the phone and the voicemail message says you cannot leave a message. Emails, they don't respond to those either. Be sure that the apartment you rent isn't for sale (they didn't mention this to us at check in)... We were bothered 2-3 times a week... More

I have been staying in Marlin Apartments every alternate week for some considerable time. The apartments have everything you need and more and are a very good alternative to a hotel room. Full fitted kitchen, seperate bedroom and a bath as well as a shower. Empire Square is a good location for Tower Bridge, The Shard & HMS Belfast as... More

We stayed at the Marlin apartments for 6 nights over the holiday period in December 2014. The location is very convenient. You can walk to the Tower Bridge and the London Eye. The Borough Tube station is just a block away and there is a Tesco right next to the property. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The bedroom... More

We stayed there for the New Year and had a good experience. The location is close to the underground and bus stop. Also having Tesco next door was very convenient considering we were travelling with kids. There is a lot to do and close to walk to many restaurants, tower of London and more. The apartments are very comfortable, although... More

I stayed here in a 2 bed apartment with 5 friends. We paid an extra £108 for use of the sofa bed for 2 nights. It was hideous , extremely uncomfortable and I could feel every spring. The apartment would have been okay for a smaller numbr of guests but there was only one bathroom between the 6 of us... More

This is the second time I've used Marling Apartments and each time I've had a good stay. More and more I prefer apartments given the flexibility they offer. The facilities they provide are excellent, with sufficient cooking equipment and crockery to make life comfortable. Empire Square is ideally located for a trip to Borough Market, London Bridge etc and if... More

Stayed for new year 2015, great location and has underground parking but apartment was tired and in need of updating, wasn't dreadful but not as nice as Marlin apartments on tower bridge. The "borough underground" was just across the street so perfect for getting around, we paid £25 for a family of four two adults and two teenagers for an... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
