This hotel is located just next to Trafalgar Square, so bearing in mind its central position it is really great value for money. The rooms are basic but very clean and the shower is great. Towels etc are provided and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Wifi and kitchen area is available and the hotel is very quiet.

Considering the area, the price is very good value. This is situated in a great area from which to explore all the touristey stuff. We only stayed for one night, but it was comfortable and within walking distance to most things we wanted to do. Bed was very comfortable, en suite bathroom was fine aswell. Not luxury by any stretch... More

After 3 weeks in South London - Bexley - I enjoyed one night before my flight to Slovakia. Location of hotel is wonderful - just 3 minutes walk from Charing Cross Station, 3 minutes walk from Thames. I stayed in a room on floor 3. Everything was clear, I could make my own coffee/tee,there were some books about London for... More

I simply cannot fault this hotel / self catering accommodation. The location is superb for walkabout and only bettered by the Charing Cross hotel (at 3 times the price and 300 metres). The room was clean, tidy, spacious and modern. Facilities all worked. TV had a load of kids channels. Not much of a view outside apart from pigeon roosts... More

I went with a friend to London and we were looking for ways to save money. This was a wonderful solution! It is safe, fairly clean, and in a great location. It is also a lot cheaper than many places we looked. The rooms are normally the dorms, so there is room for beds and your things. The bathrooms were... More

The location is great, three minutes from Charing Cross or Embankment stations. Trafalgar square and Big Ben in a short walk. A bit noisy at night, but you are in the centre of London. Simple rooms, but rather big for London. Small, but clean and comfortable shower in the room. The kitchen can be very useful if you are going... More

Meters from Trafalgar square, it is located in the heart of the tourist area. As these rooms are usually the dorms - they are quite big, especially for the price. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a good quality, budget oriented hotel in the heart of london

The location of Northumberland House is excellent - close to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, St. James' Park, theatreland and so on, and just across the river from the Festival Hall. We had a great view of the London Eye from our room, and could see the Houses of Parliament from the kitchen. The rooms are perfectly comfortable –... More

This property is not 5 star but it's location is!! Absolutely fabulous spot. Big comfy bed to rest your legs after a big day out .. Easy to get everywhere.. Staff were very friendly.. Rooms are student rooms but that's fine. Ask for a room with a view if your lucky :D

Good location. Budget hotel with very basic requirements. The downside is no tv, no hair dryer (you have to request but no guarantee), no aircon (cannot imagine if it is summer), no telephone (got to walk up and down to reception if you have any enquires), very old fixed showerhead, very tiny bathroom.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise a place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
