Being smack in the middle of London makes it rather expensive. The rooms were small, the building was not well maintained and stairs leading to our room on the 3rd floor were so narrow we had problems getting our luggage up. Its only plus point was its location. Anyway, we managed to survive a 2-day stay with not much problems.... More

This hotel needs updating and a good clean. Showers are a "wet room" style withhold brown tiled floor patched up grouting ,loose taps. The rooms are tired. The budget breakfast provided warm water in a teapot with packets of coffee or teabags and basic cooked breakfast.

We stayed in this hotel as I have stayed in another hotel nearby and it was close to Paddington station. Don't stay in room 4 as the spotlight shines in at night and you get the noise from the traffic.

Where do I start?? Booked quad / family room via bookings.com for £170 for the one night. Not worth it at fraction of that price... Ok for cheap stag slum to crash in but not for family... On arrival your greeted with the stench of old egg and fat drifting up from breakfast area, unfortunately my room was next to... More

For a central location in London, the prices were ok, lower than for other similar ones, but it's not exactly what regular people will call a hotel. It's more like a B&B. The room was clean and the breakfast substantial (english or continental, at your choice). However, the en-suite bathroom was the smallest we've ever seen in our lives. But... More

The hotel is a renovated old building, so it's more or less adapted to the modern life. It's classical B&B with the shower and a toilet on the floor. The rooms are small, but comfy with a sink, kettle, tv and free wi-fi. The hotel has no lift, so don't bring a heavy suitcase. Advantages: 15 min walk to Oxford... More

Although they define themselves as a “hotel”, in my opinion the Winrose Hotel is nothing more than a simple B&B. Their reception is only open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Outside working hours, if you need assistance, you go to another hotel reception not far from the Winrose. The Winrose reception staff were neither grumpy nor particularly welcoming and... More

We all know London is seriously overpriced! And when you book budget accomodation, you can't expect much. That's how we walked into the hotel. It's small and quiet. Both plusses. The hotel is very worn down, from reception to room, to bathroom. The breakfast area is clean, and breakfast was very basic. But it kept us going fine till lunch.... More
