This place is basic, modern and spotlessly clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. As I work remotely from home, and our offices are based two minutes from this hotel, I will definitely stay here again for the convenience factor. However, the walls are rather thin and on the first night, I was woken up at 3am by... More

We were looking for a place to stay for the night as we enjoyed London. We were looking for somewhere well located, clean and inexpensive. We found just that in The london City Hotel. We were booked into a double room (rm 17)which was on the small side, but very clean. It was located just next to the Borough tube... More

Even though I had checked the reviews, I was still very apprehensive as I pressed the buzzer next to the aluminium door between the pub and cafe. The narrow staircase that took me up to the first floor office that is 'reception' didn't boost my confidence. I was warmly greeted and signed in and directed to my room on the... More

When i caught a glimpse of the hotel from the outside, i can't say i was pleased. From the outside this place looks super small and possibly a ripoff. However after saying there for 3 nights i can say it was a very comfortable stay. Word of warning - this hotel has no elevator, and therefore you will need to... More

I stayed here recently on a business trip that took me to the eXcel. This place was clean, comfortable enough, and though my room was quite small and a bit spartan, I liked it. Directly upstairs from a Tube station, and about half a mile from London Bridge. I went for a run one evening along the Thames River Walk... More

I was a bit apprehensive when I arrived as the entrance doesn't look like you will get anything amazing. I was pleasantly surprised, rooms aren't massive but just right for a budget stay, rooms are nicely decorated, beds comfy, bathroom clean and a great location, You can walk over the bridge and see some great sites and are next door to... We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend. We were in London for a concert at the O2 arena at Greenwich and the location at this hotel was perfect. Do not be put off by the narrow entrance or the fact it is next to the tube stop. The hotel was roomy and quiet when we were there. We... More

Excellent location right next door to Borough tube station. Despite the not very solubrious entrance, the rooms are quiet, extremely clean and decently appointed, and it is ideal for flying visits. More

I really enjoyed this hotel. In many ways it felt more like staying in an apartment than at a hotel. And I mean that in a positive way. For instance upon check out we met what I presume is the owner or manager on the stairs and simply handed him the keys. We checked in very early in the morning... More
