It's a good traditional place... Although the neighbor is great, the hotel's service is not that good specially when it comes to wifi. So it is NOT that worth to stay there since the price is a little expensive, given the issues above mentioned.

The hotel - in need of refurbishment with yellowing woodwork, peeling wallpaper, stained carpet and shabby curtains, but the room provided what was needed being a bed, a bathroom with hot water and tea making facilities. We actually booked into the gainsborough hotel opposite but we're told to go across to the gallery hotel. Staff - pleasant but the waitress... More

I want to be fair so £90 a night B&B 5 minutes walk from South Ken isn't bad, not great but not bad. Clean with polite staff and to get your head down it was ok. However I stay in a fair amount of these more individual hotels over the years as I just don't like chains so my comparison... More

The Hotel is very well located, and central. Decor is very good, Ist impression very good---however!! Room quite small for 2, T.V on loan from Science museum, Tea making facilities provided, but hunt the power point behind bedside table!! T he room was not double glazed, so you could hear every bus and plane all night long, even with tissue... More

For a hotel in such a location, 3 min walk to the tube, near the museums and the Royal Albert Hall, this was a really good value hotel. By London standards the room was an OK size, had everything we needed (and a complimentary cup of tea on arrival which was nice). Good quality bed linen was a plus. Lovely... More

This was an interesting place to stay, lots of original features and antique stuff. Good location for getting about. Had a twin room for a few days pre-Christmas shopping. Good sized room, all mod cons, full sized bath and super forceful shower, comfy beds BUT the traffic noise was unbelievable. I went and bought some earplugs from Boots the next... More

This was a lovely hotel 10 years ago and there are still beautiful elements - paintings, public spaces - lounge etc... and the staff are friendly and helpful. However the bedrooms - I saw two because the first one I had sprung a leak - had peeling paper, damaged curtain rails with curtains falling off, and badly marked paintwork; the... More

We spent a weekend at Gallery and was really nice stay overall. The location is unbeatable few minutes walk from museums and tube station. We had a complimentary cup of tea upon our check in and was so kind of them. The room was quiet and clean. All members of staff were very polite and helpful.

we stayed here for a weekend .The location is excellent.Right by the Natural History museum' the V and A and Hyde Park. The District and Circle and Picadilly line tubes are a couple of minutes away. The hotel itself a bit chintzy but comfortable. The room was small but we had a huge comfy bed. The shower was really fierce. The hair... More

The hotel is conveniently located around the corner from South Kensington Tube (Circle, District and Piccadilly serving Heathrow) and it is situated opposite the Gainsborough Hotel which is managed by the same organisation that describes itself as a 'luxury hotel' group. The truth is, there is nothing luxurious about it. The room was reasonably priced as a small double room,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cross the threshold of The Gallery and you enter a world which the eminent artists of the Victorian era would recognize instantly. There's a genuinely warm feeling of welcome in the mahogany panelled reception, lobby and lounge - the latter replete with original artworks, an imposing Jacobean Revival chimney piece, plump sofas and discreet bar. Old kilims adorn side tables, an Ottoman theme repeated in the rich pile carpeting throughout. Everything, from the oriental porcelain in the lobby to the furniture and decor of the aptly named Morris, Rossetti, Lord Leighton, would surely feel at home in such surroundings. As do our discerning guests. ... more   less
