This hotel is so very basic - It's kind of shabby and outdated, no air con and it's just exactly what we expected for the price. The price to stay here is so cheap considering where it is, so it's not going to be that nice. Our room was clean but everything is just outdated. We only stayed here for... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. No air conditioning but there was a fan. The rooms were moderate sized and clean with basic cooking facilities. We had to walk up 7 flights of stairs to get to our room as no elevator. Fine if you just want somewhere comfort to lay your head at night.

3 nights here was poor end to great holiday. Check in at different building. I was really concerned about security as front door to building was not closing properly, and lots of people hanging around on front steps late into night. Moved bed so I could get in without climbing over top and floor was filthy. Air conditioner on wall... More

We booked two apartments ( not that you can call them this!!) We went for my birthday so we could be central to London that was the only thing good about them! Omg the room was so tiny we could hardly fit in it, was extremely disappointed and would never go back! Our friends room was slightly bigger but had... More

I would not recommend this place at all, I wish I had of read the reviews prior to booking. The first room I had smelt like mould, and had mould in the shower, the bench top wasn't clean. They moved me to a new room slightly better... No elevators, after travelling for 4 months last thing I wanted to do... More

At over £200 per night this was a huge disappointment. The first room offered was unusable for 3 people and so we were moved to a different room that was marginally better. The main problem was that that room was far too small for us (2 adults and a teenager) despite being for 4 adults. The next problem was the... More

London is expensive and you get what you pay for. Our room on the 4th floor (despite having asked for 1st floor because of climbing stairs with a bad knee) was clean, hot and dry. Hot because the sun was streaming through the window! A blind would have been handy, as it was hard to get the window to stay... More

You get what you pay for, so be prepared for a less than luxurious room. On the plus side they are cheap, in a great location, with cooking facilities, and the guy in the office upgraded us for free because the basement we were being put into was smelly, damp, and unsuitable for anyone with asthma. On the minus side,... More

Wish I'd checked on here before going! It was appalling, and a total rip off. We collected our key cards and were taken to craven hill in courtesy taxi (more of which later). When we walked in, we were shocked at the standard, and the room STANK of stale cigarettes - I'm a smoker, but found the smell revolting, God... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
