On first impressions, we were quite excited when we arrived. The decor was unusual and the reception was clean and the staff were welcoming. Also we were attending a wedding so the hotel was ideally located. The rooms are fairly standard, although a little smaller than what you'd be used to in a standard chain hotel. Each room came with... More

We made the mistake of booking via ebookers. NEVER AGAIN! The rooms via ebookers cost £500. We later found out we could have booked direct for £400. The hotel was conveniently placed for the wedding we were attending, but my room turned out to be at the top of 53 stairs. Rooms are clean and well appointed, but very cramped.... More

Dear Mr. Goodman, Thank you for taking your time in writing a review and for staying with us. I am rather concerned about your comments above as I recall answering your enquiry and putting you in contact with Ebookers who kindly copied me in all the emails you exchanged after. In their last email (1st of July 2015), which is... More

Best boutique hotel in London with a great self service bar and a brilliant restaurant just downstairs. I really enjoyed staying here, very different. You actually feel like your in South America not in the UK. 3rd time at this hotel.

A truly unique hotel, such a brilliant idea but the execution really lets it down. I stayed in April and the room was unbearably hot (air condition isn't the greatest), bed was uncomfortable, window dressings let in an intolerable amount of light and toilet was impossible to sit on (well you had to sit on sideways!) due to bathroom layout!... Hotel was good value with great breakfast and honesty bar but bed wasn't that comfortable and the noise from other rooms/corridor was quite loud and woke us up a couple of times as the doors slammed to the bedrooms and people weren't considerate enough to stop them.

A truly exasperating and shocking experience in dealing with staff at Church Street Hotel (Camberwell). I telephoned the hotel last night (Sunday) after the hotel was recommended to me by both a colleague and King’s College Hospital. I was calling to make a booking for six nights as my mother will be going into King’s College Hospital for an operation... More

Dear Lee, Firstly, I’d like to say how sorry I am to hear that your mother is unwell and to thank you for the feedback about your recent call to us. I am pleased to hear King’s Hospital did recommend us to you, as we are proud of having a great reputation built up over many years serving staff and... More

I had a wonderful six nights at Church St Hotel. For a comparable price for just me at a travelodge, I was able to get a charming room in this hotel. I love the decoration, comfort and community that it has. Upon my arrival, the lady at the front desk noticed that I had some heavy luggage (laden down with... More

You're in for a treat. In my case, that also implied a couple of unpleasant surprises. The latin kitsch is on the plus side, as well as the really good chocolate awaiting you in the room as you check in. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is good (I paid extra for that). On the minus side, there are no... More

I was full of expectation having read the previous reviews of this "boutique" or "artisan" hotel, and the rooms looked great from the website pics. However, what we discovered was a slightly tired hotel that struggled to meet the technical requirements of such a good reputation. Access to the rooms is awkward through a narrow rabbit warren-like complexity of corridors,... More
