Having lived many years in London and having my own apartment I never had thought of staying in a London hotel. I was invited by a friend and was only too delighted by the Haymarket hotel. A short walk away from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus in the very centre of London but gently tucked away on a peaceful back... More

I admit, I splurged a bit on this trip, but it was so unbelievably worth it! The minute I walked in I was greeted by incredibly friendly staff, and was even given an exceptional tour of the property. The room itself was decadent to say the least, and the bathroom - wow! The restaurant - Brumus - was exceptional as... More

My father Peter Regan and I stayed at the Haymarket for 1 night a couple of weeks ago and truly found it a wonderful hotel. We were originally meant to be staying in a Junior suite, but the kind and charming staff on reception upgraded us to one of their luxury suites! First time I can remember ever getting upgraded,... I stayed at the Haymarket two years ago and was so happy to be able to stay there again this past May. Everything in my previous review still holds-this has to be one of the best, most centrally located, intimate, and beautifully decorated hotels in London. The staff are fantastic overall. Breakfast is to die for! I had one little... More

Great location, well appointed rooms, good service. My son and I stayed in room 314, a junior suite in the townhouse on an overnight stay in London. it was a bit of a maze to find the room, with no lift up three flights of stairs. But, once we got to the room, it was spacious, well-designed with top quality... More

My wife and I, together with our 9 year old daughter, enjoyed a great overnight visit to London on our way back from a cruise. I have had the good fortune over the years to stay in some of the world’s top hotels and I can easily say that the Haymarket Hotel, while not yet an icon, is certainly as... More

Just a wonderful place. London lux places are so over the top with 60 pound breakfasts and other atrocities. Firmdale Hotels gives you all the class and service without any needless gouging. Well maybe for laundry. Still I was blown away by the whole experience. And they gave me a candle when I commented on their wonderful in house beauty... More

For a weeklong visit to London, we chose the Haymarket again because of its central location and because of the perfectly appointed rooms, gorgeous indoor pool and fitness center. Our junior suite was spacious and the bed faced a huge wall hanging instead of a tv. The tv was smaller than most American hotels and off to the side, just... More

We had room 300, a luxury junior suite, since we had our 11 year old boy with us. The room was large and immaculate, and the sofa bed was opened every night for our son and then returned to its original state in the morning. There wasn't a view in this room - the brick wall but that was fine... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
