I picked this hotel on the basis of earlier tripadvisor reviews and couldn't have been happier. The hotel was beautiful, a heritage list property (yet all the mod cons) right in the heart of the theatre, shopping and tourist district. Beautiful linen. Friendly staff. Wonderful restaurant. I will definitely be back

We stayed here for an important executive seminar in April. We used a conference room a private dining room and the library as well as 10 bedrooms. I have to say the exterior does not prepare you for the interior of the hotel which manages to strike the right balance between hip and homely! Yes really! The pool and downstairs... More

The Haymarket Hotel is tucked away in a lovely side street near the Strand so is central yet private. The staff were lovely and our room was delightful. We'll definitely return when we next visit London.

Get away from it all - fantastic location without all the Piccadilly fuss. Amazing pool, great rooms, attentive staff. Everything you could want within walking distance of great shopping, nightlife and attractions. Not huge so you don't feel like just another guest - a personal touch - just wind away the hours after the hustle of London.

The rooms are beautiful and offers nice view. The air con works very well. We were a group of four stay here in two interconnected rooms. I like the lavish buffet they offer and dinner too is served in a nice way in the outdoor seating area. I booked this place after reading all other great reviews and was happy... More

I decided to try the Haymarket after great stays at other Firmdale hotels - Charlotte Street, Dorset Square and Crosby Street in NYC ( exceptionally good) . I imagined, given the ranking on TA, that this would be just as good, if not better than those. I was hugely disappointed. The location is excellent, the building is beautiful , and... More

This is the 2nd Firmdale group hotel we have been to and the 2nd stay at this hotel, having resolved to return after a wonderful couple of days over Christmas . As usual the attention to detail and small touches for guest comfort are all incredible . The decor and furnishing in the rooms is very individual and to a... More

Coming from a 5* hotel background I'm very fussy and critical when it comes to hotels. We often stay in London when we go to the theatre as a little treat and a few years ago, by complete default, we discovered the Haymarket Hotel. Suffice to say that we now never stay anywhere else in London as we absolutely love... More

We stayed for the weekend 2 weeks ago. It was just perfect. We had a suite and the service was excellent. Very attentive without being overbearing. Lunch was delicious, with a very varied and unusual choice of food. Pool very relaxing with lovely sofas and a bar! Breakfast was excellent as well. I really can't fault it. The location is... More

From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional. I was taking part in the London marathon. I had certain dietary requirements on the morning of the marathon which was not an issue, the staff were so helpful and professional. We dined here, the variety and quality of food were both fantastic. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Location... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
