£75 for a twin room for one night in this location is a steal. The hotel was clean and comfortable and ideally located for hopping on the tube to any of the major attractions. Friendly service was also an added bonus given the experiences I've had in London before. Communal shower and toilet areas where clean and well looked after.... More

I had a twin room but was on my own staying only one night in London. This hotel was affordable, very central, near Russell square tube and also walking distance to kings cross station and st Pancras station for regional trains all over the UK. It had a shared bathroom and didn't include breakfast, but that was fine for me.... More

I stay there regularly for both work and holidays. Central location, close to theatres, stations. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and clean attractive rooms. Wonderful cafe downstairs with discounts for guests. Love rooms that have big sash windows that open wide! Do not mind sharing a bathroom due to budget prices. i would love if they offered tea and coffee in... More

The staff were nice enough and the window in our room was large. The hotel is also reasonably quiet. London is expensive and frankly you can spend the same amount on a room somewhere else and get a much better room. We booked a room that didn't have a bathroom or shower. There was no trouble getting a shower and... More

We stayed in a triple room at St Athans at the start of June for 4 nights. Can't really complain about a thing, realistically! The staff are lovely, the bed was comfy and it really was just a place to rest. Next time, I'll choose a double and a single room as being a heritage hotel, the rooms are smaller.... More

Generally ok value for the money, great location and pleasant staff. However queues for bathrooms ( 2 bathrooms for 11 rooms on our floor) were frustrating and towels are not changed daily- arrived Thursday, received clean towels only on Sunday. Bathmats are not provided apart from well used communal one per bathroom- best avoided. Plusses just outweigh the minuses so... More

Thanks for your review. Its good to know the pluses outweigh the minuses :) Just for info for others reading - there are actually three or four rooms per bathroom depending where you are in the hotel. Many people think otherwise, maybe due to not knowing where the others are (the hotel is a bit of a labyrnth) and maybe... More

Very nice budget hotel, great location, close to tube. The rooms are small but clean. Many have shared bathroom, but they are kept clean and in good working order. For the price, you can't beat it. The cafe is really a gem. Good food! Great prices for London! Nice staff, clean. Recommended! Not luxury, but a nice little place to... More

St. Athans Hotel is a misnomer. It is actually a Hostel. There are none of the amenities of a hotel. You do get a towel and facecloth. It consists of a number of houses along the street, one of which houses the reception desk. They'll walk you down the street to your building and up to your room. There is... More

I suppose the answer is in what you expect from each. We hide nothing about us in our website, and other booking engines that advertise our hotel, we're proud of being a budget bed & breakfast hotel - but we can't stress strongly enough that people should really look us up before coming to stay, that way the guests that... Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
