This was one of the most beautiful hostels I have stayed at. Its a fantastic old building with heaps of charm. The staff are very friendly, sometimes just coming over for a chat. I looked forward to the breakfast each morning as it was always delicious and served down in a lovely outdoor courtyard. I stayed in a 24 person... More

As a more mature couple, we stayed here for my husband to attend The Royal Free hospital. Staff were helpful, we were in a double, shared dorm on the ground floor. If you think of heavy duty, double bunk beds, three high. You feel like you are in a low four poster bed. There are curtains all round and the... More

As far as hostels go, Palmer's Lodge is decent-nice rooms, curtain and light on the bed for privacy, clean bathrooms. I, like other patrons on here it appears, was extremely unhappy with how I was treated by staff, as were those I was traveling with. Just because it is a hostel for the younger crowd on a budget does not... More

Close to tube, Jubilee Line giving easy access to sights and tourist attractions. Rooms very clean. Helpful staff on reception. Rooms were hot but fans are provided. Plenty of sockets in each room. Generally quiet but spring closures on doors invariably lead to banging but remember its for safety. Lovely building full of character one of the best hostels I... More

I went to London this past November and stayed at Palmers Lodge Swiss Cottage. It took us a while to find it (we were new to London) but when we did we were surprised with how nice it looked. I had low expectations because the hostel we stayed in in Paris was nice, but the decor was outdated. We stayed... More

I found everything very clean, organized and efficient ... pity for the reception staff! I have been to palmers for a few day ,in the end of July 2014, then I met all the guys who work the front desk, and almost all of them are loafer and unkind..I happened requires information about the structure maybe twice a day to... My friend and I had never stayed in a hostel before so didn't know what to expect. It turns out we needn't have worried too much. The room we stayed in had 14 beds total, and despite this, the room was relatively clean, quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and clean also. I slept surprisingly well, and the beds... I am writing this review from a couple-around-their-thirties point of view, maybe not the best target group for a hostel, but I'd like to share our experience. To be fair, booking a hostel wasn't our first choice when visiting London, but travelling on a budget we decided to give it a go. We are not very experienced hostel users, and... More

Very beautiful hostel! Quite and good served, near bus stop and metro. The room was big and clean, the bed comfortable. There's a very nice pub, but not many things for breakfast if there's a lot of people

We spend the night here as a affordable alternative to pass the night in London. The hostel is very close to the jubilee line tube stations : Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road. The building itself is beautiful and the decoration is awesome. We arrived before the check in time and the girl in the entrance let us to leave our... More
