This was a great hostel. I stayed here 2 nights and felt very safe and convenient to everything. They have lockers in the common area large enough for a big (85ltr) backpack that can be secured for 24 hours and accessible with a key card. I used it to store 20k worth of camera gear and felt totally safe. The... More

My wife and I have stayed in Palmers Lodge many times over the years, the last time being four years ago before our most recent stay. There have been many changes in that time, we like the fact that there are double beds in dorms that close off with a curtain for privacy, last time there was more than one... More

I am a regular customer and stay here quite often. I like the house, the atmosphere, it's quite safe and clean, and easy. But my latest stay has been quite disappointing : like several other guests, I discovered that, in June, I had booked for a bed + FREE breakfast (breakfast had been free for years), and things had changed... Came here hoping for a great time. Staff unpleasant and unhelpful ( didn't know popular local pub, events, or shots) location is hidden and difficult to find, ABSOLUTELY no kitchen!!!!! More like a microwave and kettle, totally unable to make food on a budget forcing you to buy more food, terrible for students on a budget. Kicked you out of... More

It was a very smart and attractive hostel - probably one of the nicest I've stayed in, and that's saying a lot. There's even a suit of armour halfway up the staircase! The idea of having curtains around the beds is also a great idea, though sadly for me (needing to wake up around 3am to catch a flight), the... More

I stayed in a 12 all girls dorm which was super squishy and hot but you do have a curtain which is lovely for privacy. The hostel itself was good, good breakfast and really cool, chilled bar. Had a few drinks with some of the team who were awesome, but understand the other reviews regarding uninterested receptionists - very bland... More

I'm amazed that the cleaning of the toilets were done so often. The rooms gave a very rustic feel. Wifi was very stable. Only complaint was the lockers. It looked big on the surface but was very narrow.

The reception was terrible - super loud music and superbly uninterested and blazée receptionist, I couldn't litteraly hear a word she was saying. Which annoyed her even more, and then she insisted on saying that breafkast was not included EVEN THOUGH their website said it was. Even after I told her it was no big deal, she HAD to have... More

Difficult to rate this hostel. The building itself is amazing - matches the history of London, is spacious, and really pleasant to stay in. It's quiet, safe, and in a convenient location for getting around London. The shower block is too small for the number of people and the water pressure in the shower is too low. Beds are large,... I stayed in a 21 person room. The room was quiet and the beds somewhat private. The staff were very helpful in giving us information and suggestions for our stay in London. We would definitely recommend this hostel.
