4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

In a number of respects, an excellent hotel, good value when you consider a decent pool/spa facility comes included. Decent bedroom, bathroom, quiet, quirky view into the atrium. But: breakfast could be a lot better. Quite tasteless smoked salmon; rubbery eggs, greasy bacon, bland sausages, all of the buffet variety. Permanent queues at check-in, check-out. Layers of dust at the... More

We had a great experience here the first time we stayed but our second stay was marred by poor waitress service in the Japanese restaurant. Apologies from hotel management were not followed up and when our review was not published we were even more unimpressed. Rooms and bar are great but one or two staff can really let a quality... Rooms were relatively up to date for a London hotel. Service was prompt and efficient. It's not really a 5* hotel it's a good 4* but not really even trying to be luxury... Spa was good. Very convenient location.

My 6- day stay went from one extreme to the other. I was placed in this hotel by our corporate travel agent along with several co-workers. At first I was with the others in an annex of the hotel around the corner. When my electronic door lock failed I was moved to the main hotel which is a better place... More

The hotel is ok but more 4 than 5 stars.. For breakfast you can't choose ear everything from the buffet only half of it is included. And the hot beverages are not included. The good thing is they've got a Starbucks in the lobby!! The receptionist was arrogant but the waiters have been nice. The room was ok nothing special.... More

We stayed for two nights recently. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was also excellent. We only used the hotel as a base and found the location was perfect for site seeing. I've read some negative reviews on the staff but we, however, found them to be very friendly and efficient.... There were just too many things wrong during our stay at this supposed 5-star hotel. A partial list: key cards didn't work first time, room looks into an interior courtyard with no exterior views, our room on the 6th floor was directly under the rooftop patio where they host parties and function late into the night (and the attendant noise),... I have visited London on numerous occasions but have never visited or stayed on the "City" side of the city. While this hotel stands in the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral making it a most inviting landmark, it is purely a businessman's hotel, and the area does not offer much for tourist trade. Although there is a very big mall... More

I arrived at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel on Tuesday 12 May. I was given a room without windows in the unconnected annexe. I refused to accept the room. I was then given another room in the annexe, which I accepted. This room had windows. After staying in the room for about 30 minutes, I noticed that the room was... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
