The hotel is in back street, very modern, reception staff did not understand English, the service was poor had to carry my wine on a tray to the roof terrace as it is not manned or serviced, joking with other guests being called a guest waiter yet it is the main feature of this hotel, disappointing for a 5 star... I was taken here by my daughter for a special birthday treat. There was a plate of two special cup cakes in the room, plate decorated with "Happy Birthday", a lovely surprise! We stayed for two nights. The hotel is busy, very contemporary, and all the staff were helpful. The room was spacious and the location of the hotel was... More

Beautiful hotel with lovely decor, had a pleasant stay, quite expensive can probably find a hotel just as good a bit cheaper. We stayed at the top where the function room is that looks over st pauls, I bet that is good for a function. Comfortable night stay very pleased with the service.

This is a large and classy hotel situated in a superb central location next to St. Paul's Cathedral. The rooms are big enough and well appointed. The communal facilities are excellent and there are some excellent deals to be had by booking directly through the hotel website. If you want a base to explore the City and West End of... More

We booked this hotel to celebrate our anniversary. We mentioned this in our online booking and when we arrived for check in we found that we had received a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. Staff were all very friendly, we even got some complimentary chocolate cupcakes sent to our room to celebrate our anniversary. The room was fantastic, very... More

Modern hotel right by St Pauls and convenient for the Tate Modern too. If you like "new" hotels then this one is ideal + it has a lobby with a glass roof so on sunny days its really pleasant, especially for breakfast. Enjoyable stay, good to be back as a repeat guest....

This hotel was perfect for me! Super modern, nice clean rooms, big for London from what I've experienced. The staff was very nice and was willing to accommodate me when I asked for a room on a higher floor. The bell staff was also very friendly. The location is great. St. Paul's and the Millennium Bridge are right next door... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, nothing to complain about at all. Impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Visited for my birthday and hotel even left 2 birthday cakes in the room, very nice touch. Great breakfast and location. Would definitely stay again.

Modern gleaming glass palace. What a location a stones throw from St Paul's Cathedral. Tube and rail stations close by. Stroll to the Thames or the City. Friendly international staff. Our room, spacious. Comfortable King-Size bed, but why so many cushions? Bright and clean bathroom with shower and bath. We had a Continental breakfast a little weak on bread selection... More

Not a top class hotel but very good within its price range. We did a bit better than some other recent reviewers. Very close to St Paul's and those to the city, the Tate Modern and the best bits of Southwark. Also convenient for the old East End. We were high enough for a view. We only had one meal... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
