Absolutely horrific stay in the excelsior hotel London! Had to change room due to poorly wifi where we were given keys to a Filthy room, with a leaking toilet, dirty towels, uncomfortable bed (springs felt while sleeping), paper thin walls, broken kettle, and the floors not even hoovered! Skin crawling! Would turn you off London if I'm honest. The free... More

My partner and I stayed here for two nights when visiting London for a festival. On arrival we were shocked at how small, dirty and stuffy/hot the room was. The window didn't work - it would not stay open. The bed, despite booking a double, was only a 3/4 sized bed. The curtains would not shut properly and were covered... More

Stayed here for one night. I assumed there might be noise from the street since it's so central but the issue was actually paper thin walls. Could hear everything from the corridor and other rooms. Window was left open when I arrived and was broken. Bathroom was tiny for a double room. Shower was rubbish and there were cracked tiles... More

The standard room will not fit two adults and one child as advertised. We had no room to move with a cot in the room. The room was tiny and very warm. The shower was broken even after alerting management. No concessions were made.

Me and a friend needed a day use hotel on a budget in the Angel area of London at the weekend in order to attend a couple of night time events. I managed to find this hotel roughly within a mile of the venue. The staff were pleasant and let us check in earlier than previously arranged. The room and... More

We stayed at this hotel on June 25, 26 & 27. We were not impressed with the fact that we had to carry our luggage up an extremely narrow stairwell to the top floor. When we got into the room, there was no room for anything and I wondered exactly where the bathroom was - turns out it was in... More

Travelled as a family, 2 double bedrooms were too small for us and bathroom was cramped. Absolutely no walking space with your luggages, and you can't bend down towards the sink without hitting your back against the wall. There were no lifts so we had to carry our heavy suitcases up, and the wifi barely reaches the upper floors. Bed... More

This hotel was next door to The Melville which had better facilities. The Excelsior you just went through the door and onto the stairs that go up to the rooms. First room we got was right on the top floor and we struggled getting up there as there are no lifts. Also I hate it when a double bed is... More

Our original booking by laterooms At a lovely hotel in London Docklands was cancelled due to overbooking and laterooms suggested rebooking here- the photos on the website don't match the actual rooms or the one we received anyway. The entrance to hotel is lovely and lounge area. But once shown to our room and not helped with our cases -... More

Noisy, boiling hot rooms, no hot water in the shower, wifi barely works. Towels had some very suspicious stains on them! Don't be tempted by the low price. There's a really nice premier inn nearby - go there!

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
