The Vicarage Hotel is in a great location close to Kensington Gardens and Palace. There are a lot of restaurants, pubs and tea houses within a short walk from the hotel - in both directions. The accommodations are a little dated, but that is part of the charm. The rooms are clean and nice, and, are equipped with a coffee... More

Delightful small hotel/b&b, conveniently located on a tree-lined steet in fashionable Kensington. Just a few blocks from major underground stations that connect almost everywhere in London. Several very good pubs and restaurants are also within walking distance. Hotel has a pleasant dining room and offers a hearty breakfast. Only two caveats: the wifi doesn't reach rooms above the first floor,... More

My first Vicarage stay was in 1993 and I have always felt at home here. The breakfasts are wonderful, the location is perfect and I feel safe at all times. A sitting room for all to enjoy is stocked with magazines. The manager has been at the hotel since my first visit in 1993. She is quite accommodating and gave... More

This hotel is on a very quiet residential street. It is an easy walk from the High Street Kensington underground. We thought we were getting a ground floor room but ended up with only one set of stairs, which was manageable. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are close by and we took a lovely walk in light rain through the... More

I have to start out by saying the service at breakfast was the best. I have never had such prompt service anywhere. The food itself is freshly prepared to order. The hotel was on a very quiet street, but convenient to so many attractions, shopping and restaurants. Kensington Palace is about 10 minutes walk. There is a bulletin board where... More

The Vicarage could be used as a setting for either of the 2 stories mentioned in the title of this review. This establishment oozes charm, atmosphere and ambience. Staying here is like going back 200 years in time. For those who complain about the fact that there are no elevators and you have to carry your own luggage up to... More

I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful experience we had staying at The Vicarage Hotel! We were lucky enough, to be traveling with five other females, one of whom had stayed here 17 different times! That should tell you how much she 'loves' it! From the moment we arrived, (weary after being up over 24 hours) , Monica... More

The Vicarage is the best value in London. It's like being home and Mandy and Monika, the managers, couldn't possibly be more helpful or courteous. The location is great for getting all over London and the neighborhood is safe and welcoming. Great place in every way.....don't miss it!

This is a very nice place to stay in a great location, convenient and quiet. Old-fashioned yet commodious. Good breakfast. Friendly management. Highly recommended. An elevator would make it perfect! Really liked being so close to several good restaurants and to the tube stations.

Stay here if: 1. You want to be in walking distance of an underground station, Kensington Gardens, and lots of other attractions. 2. You want great value accommodation - £50 for a basic single (no en suite) - for in this part of London - affordable alternatives in this part of London there ain't. 3. You want to stay in... More
