I chose the Vicarage after reading about it in a Rick Steeve's London guide book. The booking process was painless and the assistance getting to the hotel was fine. I was disappointed by the condition of the room, i.e. so small that I had to leave one of my suitcases downstairs in the office (and my suitcase was not alone.)... More

The location of the Vicarage Hotel cannot be beat. The hotel is charming, set in a residential neighborhood, but close to Kensington Palace, Hyde Park and two Tube stations, Notting Hill Gate and High Street Kensington. There were a number of good restaurants nearby, as well. Rooms are small, but well appointed and attractively furnished. We loved the balcony which... More

The location is quiet and conveniently located to the tube, Kensington Gardens, and Kensington High Street. The hotel is well-maintained, but not too modern. No AC in our room, which made it a bit stuffy at times. No TV. No WiFi either (we were fairly high up in the building. The traditional English breakfast is solid. Hotel is a bit... More

The Vicarage Hotel is in a great location close to Kensington Gardens and Palace. There are a lot of restaurants, pubs and tea houses within a short walk from the hotel - in both directions. The accommodations are a little dated, but that is part of the charm. The rooms are clean and nice, and, are equipped with a coffee... More

Delightful small hotel/b&b, conveniently located on a tree-lined steet in fashionable Kensington. Just a few blocks from major underground stations that connect almost everywhere in London. Several very good pubs and restaurants are also within walking distance. Hotel has a pleasant dining room and offers a hearty breakfast. Only two caveats: the wifi doesn't reach rooms above the first floor,... More

My first Vicarage stay was in 1993 and I have always felt at home here. The breakfasts are wonderful, the location is perfect and I feel safe at all times. A sitting room for all to enjoy is stocked with magazines. The manager has been at the hotel since my first visit in 1993. She is quite accommodating and gave... More

This hotel is on a very quiet residential street. It is an easy walk from the High Street Kensington underground. We thought we were getting a ground floor room but ended up with only one set of stairs, which was manageable. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are close by and we took a lovely walk in light rain through the... More

I have to start out by saying the service at breakfast was the best. I have never had such prompt service anywhere. The food itself is freshly prepared to order. The hotel was on a very quiet street, but convenient to so many attractions, shopping and restaurants. Kensington Palace is about 10 minutes walk. There is a bulletin board where... More

The Vicarage could be used as a setting for either of the 2 stories mentioned in the title of this review. This establishment oozes charm, atmosphere and ambience. Staying here is like going back 200 years in time. For those who complain about the fact that there are no elevators and you have to carry your own luggage up to... More

I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful experience we had staying at The Vicarage Hotel! We were lucky enough, to be traveling with five other females, one of whom had stayed here 17 different times! That should tell you how much she 'loves' it! From the moment we arrived, (weary after being up over 24 hours) , Monica... More
