I have lived in Kilburn for 14 years. The Black Lion has always been a local favourite. I have had many happy memories. The interior is sublime. Sadly my Saturday was so underwhelming I feel the need to share. Where do I start? Ok..So it was somewhat busy but we found two stools at the bar. The girl was slightly... More

Our room was nice, as was the bar downstairs. Kilburn High Road isn't up to much but it's not far from West Hampstead which is brilliant. The breakfast wasn't worth going to: cereal with warm milk and cold tea and coffee, there was no cutlery for us and we had to ask two or three times for different spoons and... More

My group of 4 stayed at the Black Lion B&B on our trip to London. The Manager, Tom, greeted us as we stumbled in through the doors at midnight. He was walking out the door but kindly stayed to check us in and even at that hour, was super friendly. Our reservation was booked online through a promotional offer but... More

I brought my mum here Saturday just gone for a birthday breakfast, hoping that it would be nice as I had read some fairly nice reviews. The coffee was cold which I asked to be re-heated then the breakfast was cold. I didn't send the food back as we had quite a weird look from the waitress when I complained... More

Another one of my locals, have been coming here for months and taking advantage of the two for one cocktails over happy hour, weekdays 5-7 ... Where else can you get a Long Island iced tea for £3.50? Not only great value the staff are welcoming, obliging and superb at muddling anything from a mojito to a martini. I only... More

I had dinner last last week, on the invitation from a friend. Very good menu, welcoming staff (not very knowledgable about the menu, but keen to help). This is a typical chef who aims high and performs at a mediocre level. My starter of scallops and chorizo was lumpy, and the addition of peppers made it taste worse. My vegetable... More

Nice vibe in the bar area. I ordered the 'Beef Sirloin with Roasted potatoes, Selection of vegetables, Homemade Yorkshire pudding and Veal jus' which was quite good. A good portion of beef, but it wasn't cooked medium which I would have preferred instead it was slightly overcooked. Plus they ask how I would have liked it cooked. Weird... Also the... More

We stayed here as a group of 4 over the weekend as I had a meeting to attend in London. I had foolishly left booking a hotel until the last minute...with more central locations creeping up to about £160 per room per night I began looking for B&Bs and guest houses, and luckily came across the Black Lion. We stayed... More

We went as a group of five friends and booked a table outside. When we arrived, it was understandably packed as it was a beautiful day but it was not helped by the discovery that our table had been double booked. We eventually got round to ordering food fro. The BBQ which was nice when it came but took 45... More

The hotel is located on a busy street in the Kilburn neighborhood, with a short walking distance (5-7 min walk) to the Kilburn Underground Station, Brondesbury Railway Station and several bus lines. If you love middle-eastern food, you are in the right place. You'll have many options to choose from. However, this is definitely not a hotel for family or... More
