I stayed in that hostel for 1 year and a half and in my opinion is the perfect accommodation for students or young professionals. The relation quality-prince is good (knowing that London is an expensive city). It's an affordable place located in the nice are of Notting Hill, the neighborhood is quiet, 5 minutes walking you can find the famous... More

The showers and toilets are normally clean for been shared. I'm making a lot of friends and the peor le in general are very respectfull. The staff is helpfull... More

I stay one month and half there and had some issues with their management. They try to get more money from you with some rules that they don't explain to you when you check in. I have problem with the internet connection wich is not available in all rooms. Sanitaries are not very clean and the food is always the... More

Just avoid staying here, it's for you, if you'd wish to study then better to choose students accommodations, this is an hostel , students are friendly and helpful, yet people work there is less helpful , manager is hated by many students as she has a definite horrible character.

i've stayed there for 3 weeks Good location, clean room and usually quiet. So I have no complaints about it. Room size is ok, furniture is new . Plus there is a small gym.So its a good value for money.

I was at Bowden for about 10 months. I pretty much chose this place for the period because of the excellent location. It is a few steps away from Notting Hill Gate which means everything you may need is on the doorstep: Portobello Road market, Kensington Park, Tube, Bus, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, fast foods etc. Rates differ depending on the... Was here for 3 nights during the Notting hill carnival. Location is ideal for this. However, hostel world advised that my friend and I would have a shared room but on arrival the receptionist told us otherwise. This place has a lot of long term residents so apparently 2 people travelling together are rarely able to share a room. The... More

Never knew there are still places that serve workhouse rate breakfast in the UK. Stayed in this place for a few days, tried breakfast once and decided to cut losses and ignore it on other days. I mean how do you call two slices of toast (you prepare it yourself) a cup of tea/coffee with cold milk, lard/jam and cereal... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
