Excellent location, quiet and clean. Friendly enough staff that try to help, but have a limited command of English which complicates matters somewhat. I chose to stay at Pickwill Hall instead of hotel to be near my friends, so ended up paying for three beds to get an ensuite room - no value for money for me! The ensuite rooms... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights--the staff were friendly, the room was clean (with a personal refrigerator), and the location was excellent. The bathroom was just a few steps from our room and it was clean and the shower water was hot (the room with the shower was large for changing with a sink and tub). Our... More

The location was good, but that was the best thing about it. We were in a room down below, it felt like a hole. The shower was so tiny there was barely any room to move - you would not want to be a larger person in this bathroom!! The drain was also very slow so you could only shower... More

We've just finished a 2 night stay here and we look forward to returning! This is a lovely property with owners who are very accommodating. I struggle to understand some negative reviews, this is amazing value for money - you can't expect more. It's clean, warm and quiet; all the ingredients for a great place to sleep. In addition there's... More

I had a night in London to enjoy a show and see the museums the next day No single rooms available despite booking 4 weeks in advance, but a 4 person room with ensuite for £120 was a bargain 5 of the 9 lights were not working, but room was clean, nice towels and quiet This is only 2 minutes... The place is basic and nice enough but unless you enjoy having all your stuff removed from your room and put somewhere else while you are out sight seeing then DO NOT stay here. They seem to think that when they mess up their bookings they can just pack up your stuff and put you in a different room without... More

We stayed at the Pickwick Hall for 3 nights. One of the best hostels we've ever stayed at. So close to most of the must sees, like the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, National Gallery, Chinatown ... . The rooms and bathrooms are clean and reasonably priced. The neighbourhood is really nice, safe and calm. Really close to Holborn... More

First of all, I would definitely recommend this place for a short stay. Why? Because the location is really awesome. It's a great jumping off place to explore some really great places in London such as Soho, China Town, Trafalgar Square and many other places. Plus, the neighborhood is just nice. Totally safe, clean, good. I was a little put... More

Stayed at the Pickwick Hall for two nights in July and we were really happy with all aspects of our stay. It is fairly no frills as it's a hostel but it's clean and the room was a good size and the bed was really large and comfortable. There was also a fridge in our room which was a nice... More

Very nice and friendly place. Great, big rooms, very clean (also the shared bathroom!), quiet, supercomfty beds. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Some restaurants and a supermarket are close by. It's also close to Russel Square tube station.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
