Positive: Central location. Helping staff. Clean and warm single room. Negative: Basic breakfast. Sink in bedroom not running properly and microwave with the plate not turning. Overall evaluation: Good value for money: I give 4 stars

Hosts were very communicative and gave great directions prior to our arrival in London. It's a centrally located hostel close to the tube, shopping strips and nightlife. The rooms and shower area/toilets were reasonablely clean (albeit small) but given the age of the place, it was expected. Breakfast was a basic meal of cereal and toast. There are a lot... More

A friend and I stayed in a private twin room here for a night after our Christmas party in Holborn. The mid-week price was incredibly reasonable, especially in central London! You'd be hard pushed to find anything else in that area for this price. The rooms are a little worn, but characteristic and suit the building. Despite being so close... More

We stayed in Pickwick Hall for a week and really thought it was great! It is super super central in a quiet road amazingly close to the British Museum. Very easy to walk to from two tube stations. The rooms are old and worn, but have a charm to them. Coffee and breakfast is included and we really were impressed... More

This was my first trip to London and my sister and I stayed in a twin room. Our room was very clean and tidy. The shared bathrooms in the hostel were also very clean. A simple breakfast is provided each day which suited us just fine. Very close to Russell Square station. Alzira contacted us before our arrival to give... More

This is a very nice place in the very centre of London. Great location, a very quiet and friendly place, very helpful stuff and a true feeling of home. There are no bunk beds there, and the sleep quality is very good. Good wifi. The best hostel in London i stayed in.

My husband and I stayed at Pickwick for five nights on our most recent trip to London, and were pleased with our experience! This was our first time staying in any kind of hostel, and while it probably wasn't a "true" hostel experience (we had a private room and didn't see much of our fellow guests), it definitely exceeded our... I haven't got a bad word to say about this place. My boyfriend booked for us for a weekend away in London and we had the private double which was very spacious. The area was quiet and safe and easily walkable from Leicester Sq, Covent Garden and China Town. Staff were friendly and the free breakfast in the morning (toast, cereal and coffee... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
