Good: - Good location - walkable distance to major attractions but also close to metro stops and fast-food shops - Individual rooms as opposed to dormitories - very good breakfast! - games room makes a good communal area - good price for being in London Bad: - shared shower room/toilets - it's a bit of a trek down the corridor... LSE Rosebery Hall is a modern student accommodation complex located on Rosebery Avenue in North London. This is a very handy location with frequent bus service into central London and a fifteen minute walk to Angel tube station and the restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs of Islington. During university holidays, rooms are available for visitors to rent. A full English... More

Having sadly never made it to University it is interesting to come here (for the second time) to get a feel of what student life would have been like. The rooms are clean and pleasant. The room we had was en suite. Yes it could do with a lick of paint here and there, but nothing major. The rooms are... More

Ok, these are students halls, I understand, and I also understand the rate is quite cheap. However, they place still needs to be clean, right? Not so much! I can not possibly describe how horrible the corridors smell: like smell of curry combined with sweat and feet adore with a touch of urine and soya source for the top note!!!... More

Had a few days here whilst watching the Rugby League Cup Final. Excellent location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, opposite Sadlers Wells and close to the Angel, Islington. The #38 bus stops outside to Victoria, via Shaftsbury Ave. Piccadilly Circus and Marble Arch and are every few minutes. The rooms are small but clean and... More

I have stayed in an LSE halls previously behind the Tate Modern and went into Roseberry Hall with similar expectations. Let's get one thing straight- these are student halls, and if you didn't know that before you arrive, then you have seriously failed to do your research. They will be basic, but if you just need somewhere to lie your... More

Used TravelStay to find this accommodation. In spite of requesting a ground floor room due to my wife's fear of heights we were assigned a room on the 5th floor. The reception staff were sympathetic and reassigned us a room on a lower floor. There was no mention of it being student accommodation for the London School of Economics. Our... More

Thank you for your feedback Brian. To start with the room assignment, we always do our best to allocate guests to their desired rooms but sometimes, especially during the busy summer months, this is not possible. I am glad in this instance we were able to re-assign you to a lower floor. You do have to leave the reception and... More

Stayed here for a night with friends. Room and beds were average but it was worth for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shared bathroom and Kitchen was too modern and clean. Wifi speed was above average. 5-8 min walk from Angel Underground (Northern line). Highlight of the stay is massive, delicious breakfast we had got in our booking.

The bed was uncomfortable the bathroom close but messy. The breakfast basic. It was hard to block out the street light. Location us fantastic in central London. Staff were very helpful. It's £47 per night for a solo room so by London standards that's very cheap.

Thank you for writing your review on Trip Advisor. I am sorry that you found the bed uncomfortable. Had you reported this to our reception staff during your stay, they would have done their best to find you a different bed in an alternative room. I will forward your comment about a messy bathroom on to our cleaning staff. All... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
