When checking in, the staff seemed pleasant enough. Very informal but pleasant. I went up to the room and the AC was broken. When I went downstairs to complain, the staff acted surprised until she looked at a list in front of her and then agreed that the AC was broken. I personally believe that the hotel should have informed... More

Great stay in a very handy location , 5 minutes from the front door to the Tower Of London , Tower Bridge etc. Modern , comfortable room which was very spacious for a family . Also handy having the bar area in reception as well as a decent breakfast area . Problems with room temperature & lack of WiFi were... More

The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was very hot and did not have any air con. Luckily we headed straight out into the city because it was unbearable.

Really good hotel! Recently re-furbished it was comfortable with a big bed, and everything we needed. The best thing about it is the location; Zone 1 on the tube and close to many stations, also just around the corner from Tower Bridge and the Tower of London which was lovely! Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. There wasn't a duvet... More

If so this is the place for you. If you are unfortunate like me to stay on the 2nd floor, they pass your window (wave and shake hands with the driver if you want to) every minute or two. Unfortunately the trains stop at 12.30 am, but you'll be glad to know that they will be back again at at... More

The hotel was very good, the staff were excellent and the choice of breakfast was suitable for everyone. The Hotel is very close to the tower of London and various other attractions. but the hotel backs on to a busy railway line which is very noisy.

Hotel was very good. We booked well in advance of our stay and price was very reasonable for the area. Very clean, and comfortable. Only minor thing was that we backed on to a railway line so it was noisy if you opened the window, but ok if you didn't. Staff on reception were excellent and very helpful and friendly. There... I used Travelodge Aldgate East as there was limited availability in other hotels. Several other friends stayed at the same hotel and experience similar issues. Air conditioning units didn't work. Too few replacement beverages (tea, coffee, milks etc.), train noise ALL NIGHT despite the assurance from staff that trains stopped between midnight and 6am. The bed was comfortable, although the... Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
