Myself and a friend has allways stayed in a travel lodge in london. So we didnt think we would have a problem at this one.Once arriving the hotel looked clean and the lady on the reception was nice.Got to our room on the first floor facing the road which i was glad as at the back of the building is a... I had a single room on the ground floor. This meant going through a door and then another into an alley way before entering the hotel again. The room was what you expect from a Travelodge - bed, TV, bathroom. The shower was pretty good and nice and hot. There were staff on the reception all the time (I checked... More

Great place to stay in London. Room clean and comfortable. Bed very comfy so slept like a dream. Staff very helpful and the free Wi Fi in the reception an added bonus. Good location for getting around London. The near bye Red Chilli Indian restaurant over the road is good too. Good Travelodge, highly recommended. More

I stayed at this property from the 9th - 22nd January 2012. At the time of booking it was the only hotel that had a tv & ensuite in the bedroom & that was situated within short walking distance from a zone 1 tube station in my price range & so even though I had seen a number of negative... More

First of all, when we book the Travelodge, we are not expecting five-star treatment. Indeed, after reading some reviews on here (after booking this room in one of the sales at a very, very cheap price), I was having doubts as to whether I should not instead forget it and book somewhere else. I am glad I didn't. Sure, it... More

Friendly staff. 3rd floor single room. Spartan accommodations but very clean. Bring your own facecloth and all toiletries. I was not bothered by the adjacent train but if you are a light sleeper don't stay here. Prepaid breakfast was a good value and the lobby had free wifi for planning your day. 5 min walk to Aldgate East tube or... More

The positive aspects....the single room was cheap and clean, at around £60. The staff were polite, helpful and genuinely friendly. (Much more so than the staff at other expensive London hotels.)There was also access to WIFI (£10 for 24 hours) and it was only a 5-10 minute walk to Tower Hill Tube. The room was small but ok and let's... More

We were attending a Christmas party in London and were looking for something central but cheap and this hotel meet both expectations. We phoned about a week beforehand to request an early check in (the £10 deal that Travelodge offers). We arrived at the hotel at 12 and we only had to wait about 5 minutes for the room to... More

We found the Aldgate East very comfortable, very clean and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food: but the thing that pleased us most was the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. They were very amenable and went out of their way to help us when they could. Thanks to Dominika and others for the lovely breakfasts and... More

Difficult hotel to review is this as a lot of other reviews are quite negative but I’ll try and give my opinion on what appear to be the major talking points. Firstly the location. Its inbetween whats the “City” and the start of suburban East London. About 5 mins from either Tower hill or Aldgate east tube station depending on... More
