Great stay at the Apex. The staff made me feel like I was in the Ritz and filled special requests graciously. I think they must iron the sheets, but whatever, the bed was a pleasure to slip into. The ambience is sophisticated cool. Minor downsides -- shower warm, not hot. Economy double room is small, but as expected given it... More

Reception were extremely helpful and advised where there was to eat locally should i not want to eat inhouse. Location was within a few mins walk from the tube station... More

I spent three nights at this hotel in December 2014. I found the location very convenient for all the tourist activities. The staff are friendly, the check in / out was quick and easy. My room was basic but meet all of my requirements. Free unlimited wireless was provided at check in. The room service was very quick however slightly... More

Stayed last Saturday night with the family of four. Great location close to the Tower, quiet area, great sized family room with excellent bathroom and walk in shower. We couldn't find the hotel at first and received little direction due to poor English speaking desk staff .We couldn't get in the room when we arrived at 3pm either so couldn't... More

Stayed here last Friday ,and again we could not fault it. Room, staff, food , price (we did book Db+B in advance),and location were perfect for us. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times, and on every occasion enjoyed our stay, and will not hesitate to go back.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the weekend. Its in a fantastic location next to the tower of London and the thames. Good tube access, there is on road parking near the hotel, but can imagine it being hit or miss. The hotel is very modern and the fixtures and fittings of a high quality. Staff were very friendly... Given as an anniversary present from our two children, we were very warm welcomed by the Apex hotel receptionist. The real surprise came when we entered our (upgraded) room: wonderful room, a nice terrace, great TV and Bose-home theatre system. Very nice bathroom with bath and big shower. And sooo quiet in the center of London... A very nice bottle... More

We stayed here because it's close to Guildhalll and others on TripAdvisor had rated it as excellent. While the hotel is nice, and the staff was friendly, the room for which we paid £258 a night was incredibly lacking in space, amenities, and wi-fi access. It was 10' x 8' with a small chair and sub par lighting. Future travellers... More

Just stayed for one night in this hotel as we had a Christmas party on HMS Belfast. Original choice was because of it's central location and proximity from our venue. All the reviews about this hotel being excellent are well justified. On arrival we given a complimentary upgrade. Staff were very polite and helpful. The room was on the 6th... More

I am a 57 year old male who whilst staying in hotels with work, allways view them as to wether or not I would book them to stay in if I was doing a short break with family friends. I state the previous to give context to my opinions. Niceley located with good access to the tube, this hotel is... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
