this is the second time we have stayed here. Represents excellent value for money. The rooms are on the small side but this is what I would expect for such a central location. A quiet square virtually opposite kings cross station. Lovely period full length sash windows overlooking the square. Very clean. Helpful friendly staff. I will definitely returning again... More

We stayed just one night at the Melville, it was clean and comfy, great location and had everything you need. Having stayed in other budget hotels close by, that didn't even have tea or coffee facilities these little extras are appreciated and I feel should always come as standard. would recommend and stay again

Room size, facilities and service were all above expectations relative to the price paid. Within 2 minutes walking distance from Kings Cross and 5 minutes from St. Pancras. Luggage can be left for only £1 per bag upon the date of checkout should you wish to continue exploring. Recommended overall.

When i first saw the pictures i thought this looks lovely and alot cheaper then most premier inns and holiday inns. When we got there we got a fiendly reception and was able to go to the room straight away where we had 2 double beds which was so comfy i could have spend my vaction time there. I will... More

We stayed here for 2 nights for a family celebration. The room was quite small, but perfectly ok for us, but not if you're on the larger side. It was clean & the furnishings were modern & bright. The staff were v helpful. Two things to note: Breakfast is not available here which were not aware of before our stay... More

The hotel is nice and well kept and nicely located. But we were treated very arrogantly and impolitely by the hotel manager on duty when only one of our two reservations (for which we had printed confirmation received from the hotel itself) did not appear in their system. The very unfriendly treatment we got will ensure we will not return.

Positives- the location is great, 2 mins walk from kings cross and it's cheap. Negatives- small impractical rooms, cracked tiles, peeling paint work, not enough storage, no iron (had to take clothes downstairs and iron in a hallway! Bizarre!) cheapest of the cheap freeze dried coffee sachets and stale tea bags shoved in the bottom of a glass, no handrail... More

The hotel overall was nicely decorated and the staff were helpful and friendly however our room was supposed to be a double but it was TINY and the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept (or not slept) in! Great location but a bit overpriced for what you get.

It was our first trip to London for 4 days. The hotel was brilliant. A very convenient location, a clean & cosy room and helpful staff. If we visited London again, we would definitely chose this hotel for our stay. Thank you!!!

I come to London for business and after/before a 4-5 hour train journey I just need somewhere to sleep. I usually aim to get somewhere for £80 and have stayed in Kings Cross a couple of times where that money has got me into places with pine clad walls, dusky pink carpets and a pub/bookies downstairs which meant it was... Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
