Though it is a small hotel, the hotel needs much work. The difference in cost is immediate as it is about 150GBP cheaper. The bathroom is shared in the hotel, the rooms are small (extremely hot in the summer), staff is friendly, & road and train noises are loud. It is relatively close to St Pancreas station. Look at pictures... More

Small room with a weird set-up (bunk beds--queen size on the bottom & twin on the top). Beds were not comfortable & creaked with even the smallest movements. Bathrooms had visible mold & were inconveniently located outside of rooms. Generally dirty and overpriced. Female evening staff member was very friendly & attentive, but overall service was lacking. Upside -- good... More

In my opinion the hotel is a rip off, even though it is prime location. The bed wasn't too bad but the room was grotty. I'd not use the hotel again if I get the option, especially when there are hostels much cheaper and much cleaner.

Externally the guest house was on a small noisy street. Busy traffic .it looked dirty from outside on entering the receptionist seemed a very Pleasanton in a room that looked like half a dozen refugees lived in. It was dirty old and smelly. The door to the room didn't fit , the shared bathroom was disgusting ..the room was filthy... More

Room was clean and adequate size with tea and coffee facilities. Can hear everything going on from other rooms. Bathrooms need renovating. Very old fashioned and unkempt. Worthwhile for a cheap and easy place to stay in lndon

Firstly, this is NOT a hotel or of hotel standard. However, if you're not expecting a hotel, but are instead expecting a hostel, than this is perfect. Obviously, the decor could be cheered up and the shared bathrooms made nicer, but for the ridiculously cheap price in the middle of central London you really can not complain. Myself and friends... This is ok if your only staying one night, and don't mi.d sluming it! location good, its 5 minutes walk from kingcross station, very noisey, but it is London! Shared bathrooms are disgusting, no hot water in the shower! There are tea/coffee making facilities but no cups to drink it out of, I asked the receptionist for a cup/mug,it took her a... More

For a last minute stay close to the station all I wanted was a low cost, basic hotel. On arrival I was disappointed at the state of the accommodation but was prepared to tolerate this. I wouldn't be coming back. My stay was satisfactory, although the shared bathroom was the worst I'd ever seen - anywhere! More worryingly, my debit... More

The budget hotel did what it said on the tin, it wasn't awful and for the price we paid served a purpose. That said, the room was dark and damp and the communal shower didn't work and the staff were unfriendly. I would have no problem staying again if I needed somewhere to stay on a budget last minute just... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
