Room quite good for budget hotel. Nice clean white bedding and towel. Room nice and warm. Bathroom absolutely horrible and let the whole stay down, thankfully there was sink in room. Service good.and friendly.

This is ok if your only staying one night, and don't mi.d sluming it! location good, its 5 minutes walk from kingcross station, very noisey, but it is London! Shared bathrooms are disgusting, no hot water in the shower! There are tea/coffee making facilities but no cups to drink it out of, I asked the receptionist for a cup/mug,it took her a... More

For a last minute stay close to the station all I wanted was a low cost, basic hotel. On arrival I was disappointed at the state of the accommodation but was prepared to tolerate this. I wouldn't be coming back. My stay was satisfactory, although the shared bathroom was the worst I'd ever seen - anywhere! More worryingly, my debit... More

The budget hotel did what it said on the tin, it wasn't awful and for the price we paid served a purpose. That said, the room was dark and damp and the communal shower didn't work and the staff were unfriendly. I would have no problem staying again if I needed somewhere to stay on a budget last minute just... More

Well, what can i say...you get what you pay for! £39 for a double room in London seemed good....too good to be true. It was late and it was better than trecking round trying to find somewhere else, or sleeping on a bench!! A small amount of money on the owner's part would have improved it, maybe box off the... Dingy, dirty, uneven flooring, dirty bathroom, overly narrow staircases that threaten to break upon luggage being brought across, no a/c or fan, dirty floors, dirty walls and ceiling, door that doesn't lock properly, tv that doesn't work, dirty sheets and linen, staff who can't seem to speak english even though we're right smack in London. Please don't waste your money... More

Hotel was as expected, basic but clean. Main problem was someone came into our room during the night. They had keys so assume it was staff. Not acceptable especially as we had children in room too. Bathroom was ok and clean but no bin. Will look at youth hostels next time.

Sometimes London gets full and even the really bad hotels can charge good money for shabby accommodation. This is the situation I find myself in tonight . The place is run down and need of lots of attention . The worsed though is the 3 hours drilling I ve endured tonight . It must be major works going on and... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
