You get what you pay for...which is basically a bed and a toilet. It wasn't dirty, but everything was shabby and could have been improved greatly by spending a few hundred pounds. There's no internet, but if you ask management they'll give you someone's router password in exchange for "some money" to be given to the owner of the router,... more

My mother and I stayed at Avoca House Hotel in October 2008 for 13 nights. The rate was very reasonable, a twin en suit room at 59 pounds. The room is comfortable and suitable sized. The hotel is conveniently located in residential district at just 10 minutes walk to tube and few stations to Centre of London. The host was... more

We stayed at the Avoca House Hotel for 5 days in March, and we recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet, comfortable, not too expensive and clean place to stay. We paid 60 £ for a double room with bathroom, which is not much, especially if you consider that the staff is friendly, helpful and there for... more

We stayed at the Avoca House Hotel for 5 days in May, and we can without hesitating recommend it to anyone who doesn't look for luxury, room service, uniformed doormen and stiff prices. For the price we paid (60 £ a double) we had a large room and a nice bathroom, and the pleasant staff was always smiling and helpful.... more

I stayed at Avoca House Hotel during 30th March- 7th April. Hotelroom was good with own bathroom, area was peaceful, beautiful and seamed safety. Prices were reasonable. But above all, a male staff member from Sri Lanka was amazing, so helpful and friendly to customers. Every day I got a lot of good information about London and what ever I... more

Nice, clean, CHEAP, located in a fine residential zone. Very kind, discreet, friendly and helpful staff. You can reach two different Underground stations in a few minutes walk (Jubilee line, 5 stops to Westminster from Swiss Cottage). A National Express bus stop (from and to Stansted Airport) is very close as well, and in Finchley Road you can find any... more

Just came back from 3 nights at the Avoca. I found it to be a very well priced and clean hotel with larger than average rooms for a B&B. It's extremely convenient to buses and trains to London too. The staff was wonderful, helping me out when I needed to go places and very friendly. The building may be old... more

We stayed here for two nights - the room was comfortable - not too cramped, it had a TV and coffee maker, the bathroom had a full tub with shower - although not the greatest water pressure. The bed was very comfortable - all the linens were clean. This is a very basic B & B, the furnishings are old,... more

I stayed here for 3 nights in May. The staff were very helpful, the room was large and although the building was old and slightly tatty it was all very clean. The location is great as it is only a few minutes walk to 3 different tube stations, several restaurants and plenty of convenience shops whilst also in a nice,... more
