As a student on my way out to an exchange I decided to spend a couple of days in London before my flight left. I thought I'd chip in for my mum and I and book a hostel, something which horrified her when I told her! Obviously these feelings weren't made any better with some of the reviews on here.... More

We booked the hotel one night and we reply e-mail to them to inform our payment. But there is no feedback until 2 days before we arrive. They just keep telling me to "send e-mail" and there was no response so we have 2 called them a couple times but finally we get a confirmation e-mail 1 day before we... More

I spent few nights in this hostel with my mum and sis. The hostel is located in 5 minutes distance to Natural History Museum, Sciance Museum and V&At Museum which I find extremely comfortable. Our bedroom was really clean equipped with television. It's a good place for those who just need little space for sleeping and resting. 20-30 minutes distance... More

My son and I stayed here for two nights. It is basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. There was no Wifi at the top of the house but we were given the use of another room for a Skype interview he had to do. To stay in South Kensington for this price is amazing!... More

Hi guys, I'm a backpacker used to be in several hostels some better and other not so good, but no doubt this was the worst of all of them. First we booked a double room and we found a 7 people room, dirty and cold. There is only one toilet per floor and always busy. The breakfast very bad, only... More

If you are looking for something central and in a good location, this is good. HOWEVER, don't expect good service. The bathrooms were very dirty with mold on the ceiling. There are no outlets in the bathrooms.. the rooms are smelly and always drafty. The keepers liked to have the doors open everywhere. There are no lockers to keep your... More

We stayed at Acacia for 7 days as a couple. Our room as well as the bathrooms were extremely dirty. Dirty sports on the wall and on the carpet, shower equipment falling into pieces. When we arrived there was no heating in the room and the receptionist told us there is not going to be any heating at all. Fortunately... More

It is difficult to describe the Acacia Hostel, you truly do have to go there to understand (not that I am recommending you do...unless you choose to!) That is what we did, as it is in a great location and was really great value. We paid for 5 days what we would have one for a night in some other... More

The hostel is as cheap as terrible! The room Was incredibly old and cold, no heating in the toilet and even the shower water was basically cold (not pleasant at all, in December!). Some guys from the reception were almost impolite, some other tries their best to be nice and helpful. What plays in favour is that the hostel is... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
