We stayed at Acacia for 7 days as a couple. Our room as well as the bathrooms were extremely dirty. Dirty sports on the wall and on the carpet, shower equipment falling into pieces. When we arrived there was no heating in the room and the receptionist told us there is not going to be any heating at all. Fortunately... More

It is difficult to describe the Acacia Hostel, you truly do have to go there to understand (not that I am recommending you do...unless you choose to!) That is what we did, as it is in a great location and was really great value. We paid for 5 days what we would have one for a night in some other... More

The hostel is as cheap as terrible! The room Was incredibly old and cold, no heating in the toilet and even the shower water was basically cold (not pleasant at all, in December!). Some guys from the reception were almost impolite, some other tries their best to be nice and helpful. What plays in favour is that the hostel is... More

We needed the room simply to sleep and shower. I admit that the showers could have been a bit more adequate.. However it was good value for the money we paid. Breakfast was a bit disappointing in that it was just buttered toast and coffee, but I reiterate that the price paid reflects the service.

The hostel is adequate for people who are looking for a cheap place to sleep and not much more. The bathroom was relatively clean. We had a small sink with a mirror in our room and a flatscreen tv which was nice. The guy at the desk was helpful. The best part about it was the location.

9 of us, stayed over for 2 nights, rooms were clean and adequate as we were only using this to sleep in, Grandkids loved the bunk beds, Breakfast was enough to start the day off, Good basic Accomadation at a great price....you get what you pay for.. only downside was the Kitchen area, adequate pots and pans but no cutlery... Not a great experience but can't expect much better for the price in London. Stayed here during Wimbledon 2014. Bus and underground connections were convenient. Dorm room had dirty floors, nasty walls, but beds appeared clean. Didn't provide any sort of security for your belongings beyond simply leaving them in the lobby which was often left unattended. Someone's laptop was... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
