An unpretentious but welcoming hotel that offers clean, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast.. En-suite bathrooms are a little small but that is to be expected in non-purpose built hotels. Management is very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is ideal, being walking distance from the Underground, Bloomsbury (the British Museum) and the city. Despite its central location, it is remarkably... more

The Jesmond Hotel is a friendly run, very clean, helpful, is in a great location and not to mention has a great breakfast. It's close to Oxford street, the Underground and great eating places too.The beds & pillows are comfortable with crisp clean linen. We had a double room (it was small but that's London) with shared bathroom and toilet... more

We just returned from a visit to London and we stayed at the Jesmond on Gower Street. We were very happy with the place. It may be small but it was perfectly located - very close to Oxford St., Regent St., well located. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a... more

My husband and I just came home from a 14 day stay in room 1 which faced the garden and was wonderfully quiet. Our room was clean and serviced daily. We loved our inclusive breakfast which had the choice of fruit, cheese, cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, jams, coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. The staff was attentive and caring.... more

I just returned from a two prong stay at this hotel. I first stayed 7 nights on the arrival side of my trip and 2 nights at the end. I LOVED this place. The staff were amazing. Beck was at the check in the entire first week of our stay and cheerfully ran (yes, literally ran) our luggage up to... more

I did not care for this hotel. It's true that the location is good, but that can be said of all the hotels on Gower Street and vicinity. Good bus access, and easily walkable to most of London's city-central sights. I arrived tired, and traveling alone, however, and did not find the hotel staff friendly at all. I had a... more

Hello DLCAlberta, I am sorry to hear of the negative aspects of you stay, which you comment on. I am very surprised at the unfriendly manner with which you were greeted at your check-in, and the fact that you were not offered help with your luggage. Assistance with your luggage may have only been available later that day when a...

I was on a fellowship at the U of London and my partner accompanied me. He had never been to London and I wanted to stay somewhere that would allow him to roam the city by day and the two of us to do likewise at night. We were certainly not disappointed in the Jesmond. A colleague at my university... more

We stayed 5 nights in this B&B Hotel. The location is perfect for exploring London. Buses outside the door and easy walk to underground but we only ever used the buses. We also walked easily to Trafalgar Sq. The British Museum is just down the road. The breakfast was excellent, full english. Not at all greasy and plenty of it.... more

We have just returned home from an amazing 19 night stay in the UK and our last 8 nights were at the Jesmond Hotel on Gower Street near the British Museum. Our family of four stayed in Room 2 which was huge. Rooms in Britain are usually quite tiny, but this room was larger than the room we had at... more

This small family run hotel was ideal. We are a couple in our late 50s travelling with daughter & son-in-law. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, had TV, tea/coffee making facilities, ensuite had lots of hot water. Our room overlooked garden. It is an old terrace building, therefore expect steep narrow stairs, but there are a couple of rooms on ground... more
