My daughter, 2 grandkids and I stayed in a quad room at the Jesmond Hotel on Gower Street for 10 nights in June this year, after reading the excellent reviews. Our room was ready upon arrival, and although things were a bit tight with four beds, there was ample room for our luggage plus a clean, fully-tiled bathroom and clean... More

Just spent 6 days at The Jesmond. Everything was awesome: location of course, cleanness, breakfast, staff. Above all, Glyn is an outstandingly welcoming, skilled manager. I strongly recommend a stay at The Jesmond Hotel.

We stayed at the Jesmond for 8 nights. The location is fantastic. Bloomsbury itself is lovely and so convenient to the theatres and public transport to all the major attractions. We mostly walked everywhere as the weather was good. The room was on the small side (which is to be expected in London) but we were very comfortable. The shower... More

I was looking for somewhere affordable and safe to say in London. The hotel is great for a solo traveler. The staff were lovely. I was blown away by the cooked breakfast (as I wasn't expecting it). Just up the road from the British Museum. Thank you very much! Rob

I have stayed in three of the many small hotels in Georgian houses along Gower and this is my favorite. Tiny room but recently renovated bathroom and the breakfast room/lounge on the lower level has also been remodeled and is clean and bright. My room at the back had a view of lovely gardens. Free WiFi is good. No AC... More

I've stayed at the Jesmond multiple times over the last 20 years and have always found it a reliable, clean, friendly B&B. its family run for a long time now. they serve a hearty breakfast (loads of calories for all that walking and sightseeing). my advice - opt for a shared shower room option. to some it may seem foreign... I stayed here for five nights while on a training course that saw me travelling all around London. The hotel's close location to the tube station made it ideal for exploring the city and I was very pleased with how quiet, clean and cosy my single room was (it was small in size but entirely habitable and it had a... I believe all reviewers pointed out its great location - very near the tube, easy access to tourists areas, near a supermarket, and pubs/restaurants; the good value of the room; and of course wonderful breakfast. But what I like the most was the effort from the owner Glyn, who tried to call us on the day my husband and I... More

We stayed four nights at the Jesmond in a triple room on the very top floor. It was clean, quiet, and a convenient location. The room was not fancy, but surprisingly large. The bathroom was shared with other rooms on our floor, but it was literally just outside our door. Breakfast was great! Laundry service was also helpful. Not a... More

I loved staying at the Jesmond Hotel. It is in Bloomsbury which is a literary and university area of London. The hotel is on Gower Street close to the British Museum and bus and underground lines. Jesmond is family owned and run with a friendly atmosphere and a large English breakfast included in a reasonable price.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
