I have travelled for many years, many countries, and many times to London. This hotel was booked on my behalf. The staff I met might as well be wearing handcuffs. It seems they've been taught to be powerless/unhelpful. The attitude on reception when I refused to provide 'mandatory' marketing data was a terrible first impression. When I asked to verify... We booked to see a Musical and stayed one night at the Clarendon which is part of the Grange Group of hotels. It is conveniently situated with a secure car national car park very close by. The staff were extremely welcoming and polite and we had a lovely bedroom. Although the en suite was large, there was no heating in... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights, and were pretty impressed! The room was huge and very clean, bathroom facilities were superb. Lots of up to date magazines and a fresh newspaper also. Very friendly staff also which is a bonus :-) The one gripe however is that there is no better option for the tea and coffee...... More

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Longlife milk cartons are provided in the hotel bedrooms to ensure no wastage as not all guests will consume the milk. The temperature of in room mini bars is only sufficient to chill drinks to the correct temperature and not sufficiently cold enough to store dairy products. Fresh... More

We've stayed here twice now over the past 24 months. Hotel is clean & quiet. Room & bathroom were nice and warm and the bed is large and comfortable. Staff were polite, efficient and friendly. Location is terrific whether you want to walk into central London (less than 10 mins to Oxford St) or get the underground round the corner.... More

Stayed here for a one night visit as a birthday gift for my wife who wanted to see the Poppies at the Tower and enjoy a night at the theatre. None of the staff we encountered appeared to be British but they were all very pleasant and helpful and we had no language problems with any of them. We chose... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you found your room comfortable and spacious, although we are sorry that your expectations were not fully satisfied on this occasion. Maybe you would like to try one of our 5* properties on another trip to London rather than one of our small townhouses. More

We checked in at 12.30 p.m. to leave our cases and asked specifically not to be put in a basement room and would be happy to pay for an upgrade to ensure we had a nice room. The Receptionist said she would make sure we got a nice room. We returned at 5.30 p.m. to a different Receptionist who gave... More

Such a gem. Beautifully clean - stayed for three nights and felt that the ongoing attention to detail in my room was outstanding. My thanks to whoever did that. The reception staff (a mention here of Georgie the charming Hungarian lass who was so helpful) are courteous and attentive. Room service menu is well priced. How lovely to be able... More

Stayed for two nights last week. Room for first night was too hot and noisy in basement but very helpful young man on reception found us a quiet room overlooking garden for second night. This was excellent. All the staff were friendly and efficient, the breakfast was good and the location perfect - we could walk from Euston and visit... More

I was placed in this hotel by my employer but to be honest I will ensure I don't stop here again. The staff were wonderful and attentive and their standard of English was excellent (as it's not their first language). Any request was met with friendly politeness and immediate attentiveness. The room itself was massive but seems a bit tired... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
