we have stayed in London many times and always stayed at Travelodges or Premier inns, although there is nothing wrong with these we wanted something a bit more georgian style, the hotel is very nice inside , not the best but clean and tidy, the rooms are small but more than enough room, location is excellent for the shops (oxford... + Good location. close to Shopping and attractions. - Breakfast for 25£/person is way to expensive. Room on first floor away from the street meant that we needed to listen to staff preparing for breakfast from 6am instead of traffic. Lots of fire doors in the corridor that had a loud sound every time they closed. Staff seemed to have... More

We chose the Clarendon for it's location - very close to the British Museum and easy walk to the tube for access to the rest of London. It's a smaller hotel on a row of hotels all owned by Grange. The room was a decent size for London and it was clean. The biggest problem - no air conditioning. As... More

The Clarendon is one of a number of hotels along Bedford Place that are part of the "Grange" group. If you're looking for a smaller hotel with a bit of character and away from the worst of the London noise, this could be a good choice. Let me get the negative out of the way first. A number of people... More

I stayed for 1 night in a basement room, the room was spoilt by the awful smell from the bathroom. Given the problems in getting another room in an alternative hotel I stayed put. The bedding and bathroom were very clean but the fabric of the room was poor. Breakfast was OK, basic but plentiful and all of the staff... More

Central hotel near the British Museum with a good size room and very nice choice of breakfast. Nice touch of having a choice of magazines in the room.Staff were friendly and helpful and I had a very pleasant stay and will return.

We stayed at the hotel one night on returning from Paris before heading home. Sadly we only had one night as the hotel was lovely, great location and a traditionally English setting. The rooms was set of by the lovely view of the park at the rear of the hotel. Our room was HUGE and after our other hotel in... More

Very friendly but professional check in. I had a very spacious room, lovely decorated but a bit dim as it was on the ground floor. Although my stay was generally quite pleasant, I have one minor complaint. On the last day, I asked for a take away breakfast (I had to catch an early morning flight) and - due to... More

Stayed here many times, good smallish hotel in an excellent location for central London and the west end. The quietest rooms are at the rear away from the street, some rooms are very large with sofas. All rooms are at a reasonable standard. The choice at breakfast time will suit most tastes. Small and friendly!

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
