Just back from a two night stay in an executive room. The rooms are small but have all you need in them. The bed was very comfortable and the room was at the back of the hotel which meant it was fairly quiet. The breakfast is limited but adequate. There is no cold storage so not as chilled as it... The Grange Clarendon is perfectly placed for the British Museum. We were also able to walk to Shaftsbury Avenue , the West End and Covent Garden along interesting roads full of great places to eat and drink. It is also a short walk from 2 tube stations. The staff were most pleasant and helpful.

We have always enjoyed our stays at the Grange Hotels in London; nice comfortable rooms in convenient locations. This trip they far exceeded our expectations for service. Our early train to Paris left prior to breakfast hours. Without prompting, the staff at the front desk delivered to the lobby an assorted tray of breakfast food and hot coffee which we... More

Nice hotel, good size family room. Very central location easy walking distance to British Museum, Covent Garden etc. Breakfast was expensive so didn't have this so can't comment, very enjoyable stay. We used as a base for theatre trip to Drury a Lane walked within 15 minutes, we would recommend to others to stay

This hotel is just around the corner from the British Museum with an easy walk to the tube at Russell Square or Holborn. I preferred the walk to and from Russell Square. My room was large for a hotel room in London with plenty of space for myself but could have easily been enough space for two people. My breakfast... More

we have stayed in London many times and always stayed at Travelodges or Premier inns, although there is nothing wrong with these we wanted something a bit more georgian style, the hotel is very nice inside , not the best but clean and tidy, the rooms are small but more than enough room, location is excellent for the shops (oxford... + Good location. close to Shopping and attractions. - Breakfast for 25£/person is way to expensive. Room on first floor away from the street meant that we needed to listen to staff preparing for breakfast from 6am instead of traffic. Lots of fire doors in the corridor that had a loud sound every time they closed. Staff seemed to have... More

We chose the Clarendon for it's location - very close to the British Museum and easy walk to the tube for access to the rest of London. It's a smaller hotel on a row of hotels all owned by Grange. The room was a decent size for London and it was clean. The biggest problem - no air conditioning. As... More

The Clarendon is one of a number of hotels along Bedford Place that are part of the "Grange" group. If you're looking for a smaller hotel with a bit of character and away from the worst of the London noise, this could be a good choice. Let me get the negative out of the way first. A number of people... More

I stayed for 1 night in a basement room, the room was spoilt by the awful smell from the bathroom. Given the problems in getting another room in an alternative hotel I stayed put. The bedding and bathroom were very clean but the fabric of the room was poor. Breakfast was OK, basic but plentiful and all of the staff... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
