Very simple rooms with put me up beds (not level when pushed together), NOT en suite but thankfully no-one else in. Given it's a spit from Victoria this is reasonably priced but is probably the definition of no frills. It looks very nice from the outside but could do with a hug inside!

We stayed at Wigram House, Westminister London, near Victoria Station on July 2015 a day ago. The outside looked great, but looks can be deceiving. The room at Wigram House was absolutely disgusting, we called management about it and showed proof of mold all over the room, soiled carpets and sheets, strong pungent odor that smelled like a dead animal.... The accommodation is located next to Westminster Cathedral and is a 5 min walk from Victoria station with 30 min access to London Gatwick. The accommodation is basic but easily meets the needs of tourists in London. It is just a few minutes walk from lots of restaurants and coffee shops and also Victoria playhouse.

I stayed here for three nights and I will never, never be staying here again. The room was next to a shower room (was actually a combination of toilet and shower). The carpet was not clean and the windows were adjacent to the neighbor building's walls. They provide you a towel and a tiny soap. In short, this is the... More

I went with the University Room Residence as my friend had previously stayed at one while staying in London a couple of years ago. I picked this location as it was close to the Gatwick Express (and we were using this airport), Victoria Station tube and coach stations. I figured that we would go on excursions using the bus companies... More

Absolute bargain summer stay in London . Far better in both value and quality of room than a cheap hotel . Don't expect any luxuries but still marvellous . The only downside I could think of are shared bathrooms but they were kept pretty clean .

Visiting family for a 40th birthday party held in Central London. We simply wanted a bed for the Saturday night and Wigram House really fulfilled our requirements, especially regarding our price point. As well as being very conveniently located the room was clean, tidy, quiet and functional and well within our expectations for the price paid. The Staff were extremely... More

As you know by now, this is a dormitory....not a budget hotel, B&B or guest house. However, the location was great. I generally try to stay in dormitories when I travel alone as all I care about is a place to lay my head and the ability to do some cooking. When the wife's along, it's five-star hotels. I have... Just a few blocks from the coach station. It's a dorm for students so it's pretty basic but clean. Bath is down the hall so bring sandals. The value was great and we'd stay again. If you are looking for a cooked breakfast, head over to Artillery Row for some cheap and friendly cafes.

As others have pointed out, the rooms at Wigram House are basic. Why 4 stars, then? Quite simply, because I really enjoyed my stay. I was in London on business, but I'm self-employed, so I keep costs low. My room, at £43 a night, was comfortable and good value (just not pretty or ensuite). Better still, there is a pleasant... Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
