Arrived at the apartments with mixed expectations having read the reviews on here. We arrived early before check in, reception was not open however we rang the mobile number on the door and within 5 minutes someone had arrived to let us in! The building exterior was very grand looking, neat and tidy, as was the reception area. Although our... More

All in all its a mediocre hotel. The room is small, it's heated via air conditioning which makes a hell of a lot of noise, you can hear water from the pipes. All these dont allow you to get a good night's sleep. Somewhat dirty (bed covers had a few hairs on them). Bathroom on the other hand was quite... More

I have just come to the end of my stay at Knaresborough Serviced Apartments, and I am VERY happy. My room has facilities which I would only expect in much more expensive hotels - including stove, fridge, toaster, crockery and cutlery, many cupboards, PLENTY of room, and – thank goodness – no air-conditioning. Also, everyone involved is friendly and takes... More

Three of us stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for £197 which is a great price for London hotels/apartments, however we really got what we paid for. The hotel was awful. Both nights we all had trouble sleeping, the beds were uncomfortable and itchy and the staff were rude as we said hello to them but were ignored so... More

Booked this hotel last minute without looking on here, what a mistake! The pictures are very misleading and not what you will get. The room had a horrible dirty carpet stupidly small bathroom and a filthy horrible kitchenette. Paid for the room but didn't stay, managed to get a canceled room at the Hilton Hyde park. I know it isn't... More

Honestly, I read the reviews on Tripadvisor just after booking a stay at Knaresborough and I was terrified. But getting there I had the chance to see that it was not that bad, really! Our room, albeit small, was clean and cozy, the building was quiet, the hosts were polite. The bathroom was rather big, compared to the 'shoebox' I... More

Firstly, I will tell you about the only good things about this hotel - the location was convenient and the ground floor lobby was nice. Now, prepare yourself for the bad. Firstly, the room (meant to be an apartment but I would say that "shoeboax" was a better description) was not big enough to swing a cat. Tiny! You could... More

Don't waste your money, how this hotel is still in business is beyond me. At best a 2star rating. The rooms are so dirty and certainly nothing like the photos on different websites. The rooms are tiny and with no air conditioning incredibly uncomfortable, the road noise is unbearable. As for customer service you get given a phone number upon... More

We just stayed a couple nights in Apartment 13 (the same one as was reviewed by someone else 4 weeks ago...). We found the accommodation VERY convenient--so close to Earl's Court and Gloucester Road tube stops, even closer to a large Sainsbury's and several restaurants, and a short jog from Hyde Park. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and... More

A word is enough for the wise... avoid! For such a prime location i'm shocked that this place is operating at such a poor standard. EVERYTHING is dirty! Plates, pans, the linen.. I was horrified to see blood on the sheets, I decided not to sleep. It's so unfortunate because this place has the potential to be a really good... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
