you get what you pay for. we went for three nights and knew what we were letting ourselves in for. the negatives was the room was small, shower looked like it was in a former cupboard, some issues with cleanliness(toe nail in drawer, black hair on toilet cistern),all this place needs is a bit of TLC and new decor. the positives was close... The European Hotel provides lower cost accommodation in central London. It is within wheeling distance from Kings Cross/St Pancras even in the busyness of a frantic Friday night. The room I had was very small but had a double bed and shower/toilet facility. It was enough to get into London, sleep and get going the next morning. The large, included... More

One night in london for work. The location of this hotel is great and for the price I think it's fantastic. My room was small but not tiny, had a TV and decent bathroom, although the shower was more of a drip than a shower! Tea and kettle in room, Hairdryer available at reception. I feel that this hotel is... More

The pros: - The staff: I was desperately trying to find a place where I could print out two A4 pages, so I asked the lady at the reception. She offered their office printer, free of charge. This was kind of unexpected I must admit. - The breakfast. English. Real English. Not English-like. Ham, bacon, eggs, beans. - Location: King's... More

Just stayed for 2 nights at the European Hotel Argyll Square Kings Cross and had a good stay, the rooms are small but no noise, the room was warm, bed comfy and a full english breakfast all at a very good price for London. Be realistic in your expectations for the cost and you will not be disappointed, friendly staff,... More

I stayed at the European Hotel for three nights. I booked this hotel as I had early morning appointments around Euston station on each day of my stay. I have to say that booking this hotel was a very good choice indeed. In less than 10 minutes on foot I was at Euston. The area which the hotel is located... More

Clean, warm, average hotel for the price in London. Given room on 3rd floor (no lift). There was an electrical socket on the wall that was smashed and had exposed wiring. The shower pressure was low and it took nearly 5 minutes to get anything like warm! Staff were helpful and friendly, though did not fix the socket as promised.... More

Stayed here because I needed to get to St Pancras at 5am the next day. Perfect location. Steps away from the station. Greeted warmly by Lucia the receptionist. She's s very nice lady. London rooms are small and relative to price. I already know that since this wasn't my first time in London. So I generally hope that the hotel... More

The European Hotel is only a 3 minute walk from Kings Cross/St Pancras station, and directly in front of the hotel is a small park. Although the room is tiny (but still en-suite), I only stayed one night and so it was all I needed, especially as I only paid £60. There was a kettle with different sachets - tea/coffee/sugar.... I was a bit nervous booking this hotel because of some of the reviews. But, as soon as I got there, I knew I'd made the right decision. The welcome was lovely I was able to see the room before I paid for it. Very reassuring. I had a single room with a lovely window and view over the Square.... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
