This hostel is quite hard to find at first but is quietly tucked away in the streets of London. Location was good, train stations nearby and walking distance to town. Staff were very helpful and friendly and door staff provided a good sense of security. The room was quite small, our room consisted of two single beds which were pretty... More

Second time I've stayed here now and I've not been disappointed on either occasion. Admittedly the first time we booked, it was a last minute thing as we were in London to watch Premiership Darts at Alexandra Palace. We were pleasantly surprised, Lovely Staff, Very clean and the rooms were real good as were the beds. The place was very... More

This hostel was a bit hard to find at first, but worth the search when I got there. The bed was really comfortable and the staff was super helpful with anything I needed. The lounge area downstairs was really nice and made it easy to meet new people. Great location and close to most of the attractions in London! I... More

I liked staying there. Very well located, clean and with some facilities that most hostels don't. The only thing I didn't like is that the bunk beds aren't equipped with plugs and lights like in generator dublin.

Having visited already three other Generator Hostels I was sure I picked the right location to stay in London. But due to quite noisy nights, it did not turn out that way- the entrance during day and night differs, so all people where passing my room during night. Additionally I was not as happy with the bathroom as taking a... More

Common areas show better than the usual 'factory' hostel: A great effort to create an original, inventive interior. They have an incorporated pub, guest DJs and karaoke nights, billiards, a real playable vertical piano, a little screen with cinema twice a day as well as two more relaxed, chill-out spaces. I felt the place was perfect for a buddies' group... More

Very central and nice location near Russell Square. The hostel has a big reception and communal area with cafe and shop and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and modern, quite small. Close to the British Museum.

£140 per night for two comfortable beds in a very small room. Inadequate storage for belongings. No drinking water in room or in washrooms. Breakfast cheap but consists of cheap tasteless ingredients. Hot food in café tepid. Noisy at night--sprung door closers sound like gunshots every time a neighbour enters or leaves a room. Staff excellent, all facilities very clean.

For the most part, I loved staying at Generator. This was the 2nd hostel I ever stayed at in my life and was pretty great, but not as good as others as I stayed at after. PROS: It is in a pretty good location, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Russel Square tube station which I used to get... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
