I stayed here with college students as we visited london for a design talk in leicester square. The shared toilet facilities smelt and didn't look clean, the curtains had suspicious stains on and mold growing on them. Part of the problem was that the college mis-leaded us and I didn't expect a hostel. The rooms just had a sink, 2-4... more

Generator has a kind of college atmosphere, a reasonably cheap bar with events every night, pool tables, etc. My only complaint is the computers are not well-specified, so it's difficult to get much value from a network ticket. They'll do for simple browsing or e-mail. The hostel is in a nice part of town, close to shops, cafes and pubs,... more

I was booked into this hostel for 6 nights when I arrived in London - all I can say is that I did not have one good nights sleep in this place. My room was right above the entrance, so I could hear people coming in and leaving the hostel at night and in the morning. People in this hostel... more

This was my first time in London and I thought why not stay at a hostel to save some extra money. Well I was pleasantly surprised by the Generator. The staff were super nice and sweet. My first night's stay I was in a 8 bed dorm, and the lady in the bunk under me was getting up every five... more

It was my first time in a hostel and I was traveling alone. I had a hard time finding the place because it was night, and the metro station nearby was closed so I couldn't really follow the indications I had. When I finally got there, I was glad to see that the staff was nice. I had a room... more

Situated between two stations - Russell Square (5 min walk away) and Kings Cross (10 min walk). I stayed in a 4 female dorm - it was clean but can be a little tight for space if you have a few trolley bags in the room. Bathrooms and showers are clean - there is someone who comes around frequently to... more

This place is currently a construction zone, not a hostel. Scaffolding and work taking place everywhere. Fair enough that they may need to renovate, but at least warn guests before taking their money. If we were advised there was going to be so much work taking place we would have stayed elsewhere. more

Great location, the facilty was pretty clean. There was some construction going on but nothing too obnoxious. The bar was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. My first hostel experience and I was actually pretty impressed, I've stayed in hotel's that were not as nice. The only negatives were the things that have been mentioned ad nausium. People... more
