Nice and "coolish" hostel with their own pub and lounge area. Good location near King's Cross/St Pancras which means you can go here directly from Gatwick. Not too soundproof, though. I had some trouble sleeping trough the night. The bed was comfy, though. Clean room. Nice staff.

Generator Hostel London was in a great location. The large dorms were clean, friendly and had a welcoming atmosphere and positive vibe. Linen was fresh and the bunk beds were solid and offered a little bit of privacy. The bathrooms were in convenient locations around the building and were also kept tidy. My favourite part about this hostel was the... More

The pictures on their website of their private rooms with no bathroom are fake! The webpage doesn't show how they are actually bunk bed. The room had a little table, an ugly sink that only gave cold water, with little to no heating all day and night or hot water in the showers (Room felt like a cold tight prison... More

The hostel is conveniently located at Russell Square Tube Station near the British Museum on the Picadilly Line. There are extra charges such as locking your luggage in their storage room for £4 for 6 hours. Note that I was placed in the 6th Floor and the small elevator only goes up to the 5th floor. It would be nice... More

Stayed in March 2015, in a private room for 2. Arrived two hours before check-in and decided to eat something at the hostel. There is a locker room, so if you want to head into town, you don't have to wait. The hostel looked very trendy, love their design. Food is available 24/7, though various food is available at various... More

It was a safe, clean and comfortable hostel to stay in. Location is good too. Very central and close to Russell Square tube station. I'd recommend getting the bottom bunks though as the ladders are a little awkward (and a little uncomfortable!) to use! Also for those who are light sleepers try getting a room above ground level as you... More

The Generator is well-located: five minutes walk to St. Pancreas / King´s Cross and 15 minutes to Oxford Street. The facilities are clean, modern and stylish. The service is excellent and staff is prompt to answer any questions. There is an ATM inside, as well as a box where they offer different tours. The common areas are big and cousy.... More

While backpacking through Europe I saw my fair share of hostels. This hostel was by far the worst. They packed 12 of us in one room, and the bathrooms were communal - one per floor. I had to walk very far to reach the bathroom, which was not fun in the middle of the night or when showering. The room... More

well situated, quiet, clean, good crowd. 7 minutes away from St Pancras. Good pubs around, supermarket, and public transportation very close. 100% safe, even too much ! I was expecting better prices for the services like breakfast or beers, but it is ok

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
