My wife and I had a 2 night break here in March to visit our daughter and picked this hotel for the location and hoped it would be quiet and comfortable; we were not disappointed. Bedford Place is an attractive suburban street of Victorian town houses that runs south from Russell Square to Bloomsbury Square. It is relatively quiet road... More

Don't know what Callymatt (see earlier review) was talking about!! We stayed in Room 103 for three nights in late April 2015 a few days ago) and it is beautiful. Huge windows that give onto a lovely garden, the size of the room is easily 40 - 45 square metres, two large sofas, one with a coffee table and armchairs.... More

We where booked over from another Grange Hotel and it turned out for the better. The Buckingham is located very convenient in Bloomsbury on walking distance from the major attractions. We had a very spacious room with kitchenette, spacious bathroom, twin beds (as requested), lots of room to store our luggage and a seating area. The room was lovely bright... More

Awful hotel. We were in room 103 - a superior double. It was tiny, grubby, scuffed. Didn't look like the curtains or upholstery had been cleaned for years. Carpet filthy and worn. The walls were so thin we could hear everything from the rooms either side and upstairs too - even the loo! The door lock was so flimsy we... More

Stayed one night during March. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were very polite and courteous. Most of all they all welcomed you with a big smile and hello that was really sincere which often isn't the case with many hotels. Would happily stay there again and recommend it.

I enjoyed my stay here and given its location in central London was happy with the value for money. Staff were very friendly and I had a quiet room, so got a good night's sleep. The location is very convenient and I could walk everywhere. What could be improved is the wifi though - it is free but slow and... More

Excellent location close to the British Museum and easy access to the Tube and other attractions. Extremely quiet room (on 3rd floor at rear) overlooking the gardens, spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Didn't have breakfast so unable to comment on the food but overall this was an excellent place to stay for a... More

Like the other Grange hotels nearby, this is quiet - with excellent rooms, and a reasonable continental breakfast. Unfortunately an alarm woke me at about 4 am, apparently triggered by steam in another guest's bedroom.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
