This hotel is near the British museum (3 minute walk) and Oxford street (7 minutes walk). Though the room was in the basement! you would not have known as there was a large window which allowed plenty of light. The bathroom had 2 showers one over the bath and the other in the shower cubicle. The room not only had... More

Booked last minute due to its location which you cannot fault. Positives - Large room - Location -Clean -Fairly quiet compared to other Centeral London hotels Negatives - Cold tap was very warm and no bottled water - Musty smell (room 5). - For some reason we both had to sign in, I don't want my partner knowing what I... We arrived early at the hotel and were told they had given us a free upgrade, really nice of them to let us have the room early, we went down the stairs off the reception, room 5, as we went through the door the stairwell smelt very strong of damp, a very obvious smell... When people say you should complain... More

I originally booked a single hotel room for £95 on late rooms.com at the Lancaster (directly opposite on the other side of the road) but was upgraded to a superior double at the Buckingham. Reception staff were friendly and professional. Public areas very well decorated, clean and pleasant. The room was spotlessly clean and in good order, with a large,... More

I was out in London with a friend when we realised we were not going to make the last tube. We booked a hotel online for £95 (The Clarendon, a few doors down). They sent us to the Buckingham (must be the same outfit). We only booked a single room with a queen bed as it was the cheapest and... More

We had originally booked the sister hotel the Clarendon next door and initially I was a bit wary of being 'upgraded' as in other hotels, this is secret hotel speak for 'stuffed in a small room somewhere'. I need not have worried. We were delighted with our upgrade, which would have cost us an extra 30 pounds per night had... More

Brought here as a surprise - for a birthday present and luckily I've got a good sense of humour. The positives first: huge room, large comfy bed, and pretty quiet. Now for the rest we arrived on a hot evening no mini bar and no cold bottled water tho there was a fridge and a tap. When I asked about... More

Our room was on the lobby level and we could hear the staff chatting and phones ringing all night. It was hard to sleep through the noise. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was super spacious and clean. The location is good; it's only a few blocks from the Metro so it's walking distance.

Stayed here mid may 2013 when I had training in London. Location was excellent, being close enough to tube, buses, restaurant and all that Coventry garden has to offer. It was just set back enough so as not to be disturbed by the noise. Staff were lovely. To the lady on reception on fri morn 17th may, who directed me... More
