I went to London for 3 days in June on business for the first time. As I was paying my way I wanted to rather use my money to see the city rather than spend on expensive accommodation. Excellent value for money at the International House. Had a double room and shared bathroom with 2 other rooms. Rooms very nice... More

We (4 adults in one family) stayed in August, 2013. Convenient location, a 5 minute walk from Lambeth North tube station, and a 15 minute walk to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, and Parliament. 2 twin beds in each basic dorm (with a sink), shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Odd odors, stained carpets,Floor seemed dirty, so i was not... More

Only stayed here for one night, thankfully - the room seemed clean enough, but was very threadbare and in need of maintenance (peeling paint, stains, sagging mattress, torn carpet, etc). The bathrooms were pretty awful, and in desperate need of a good clean. The lift made very worrying noises, and the hallways were quite grotty. It was all a bit... More

I would not recommend staying here. In addition to being poorly run by incompetent staff who can barely speak English, it is filthy and falling apart with a design in need of desperate reform, although this is perhaps less urgent than the requirement for compliance with basic levels of safety standards; hazards and rudimentary dangers require constant circumspection to be... I had a seven day stay, during the Olympics. The price was very reasonable, the accommodation was more than adequate for a single , middle-aged, "Yank" who generally travels rough , location was perfect (my longest trip to a venue from there was about forty minutes), staff were generally kind and helpful. Since these are university rooms, my expectations were... More

My niece and I stayed here for seven nights in July/August 2012. It was a very good experience. The people at the reception desk went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. They allowed us to store our bags in a locked room until check-in time. We loved the location and felt we were part of... More

My wife and I stayed at this place in London for three nights in early June, 2012. It was a fairly central and relatively inexpensive place to stay, and with some hesitations we can recommend it. In case you did not know, this is a student dorm that is rented out to tourists during the summer break. See our list... More

We stayed here for 7 nights in August 2011. This was one of the cheapest places we could find in London that was still reasonably well-located. The price is definitely good for the location - it's only a 5 minute walk to Lambeth North station on the underground, and about 15 minutes to the London Eye. The rooms were fairly... More

We stayed here for one night, we were looking for somewhere cheap. The location is good, rooms very outdated and basic, shared bathrooms. The shower head had come off the wall so I have to hold it up whilst showering. It was quite clean. Overall just really basic facilities. Got a room at a travelodge the next night at half... More

Apart from the location and price this place has little going for it. Didn't feel safe at International House. Rooms were dirty and uncomfortable, plastic mattresses were sagging, hard and too short even for me at 5'5. Plus the 2nd bed in the twin room didn't fit - it was either under the desk or blocking the door. The sink... More
