I had cheap, clean, quiet, single room, TV, a safe, tea, coffee, ensuite, comfortable bed. Friendly staff, breakfast included in price, bread/toast, jams, cheese, cereal, juice, tea, coffee. Cafe also attached. 1 minute walk to station. Old furniture, no view but cheap and had everything I needed for a busy traveller.

First of all, im not a fussy person nor are the people I was travelling with however, over my dead body will i go back to this place again. And that's putting it lightly. I understand the price we paid was not a lot at all and it is in a prime location, We weren't expecting anything fancy other then... More

When recommending reviewing this hostel, it is very important to keep in mind what was paid for it. It is very cheap staying there which, of course, has to respond to what you can expect. We had a room with private bath, which was very small and the water not always hot. But it worked. The beds were ok, but... More

The beds were a bit small, the room overcrowded, the two bathrooms in our room were ok, the breakfast was unimpressive and limited, but like I said in the title, for 9 pounds per night you can't complain, on the plus side it was directly opposite hyde park

We stayed 8 nights on the 3rd floor in what looks like it was once a double room except there were bunks jammed in and not an ounce of spare space. Eight people in such a small room seems like it should be illegal if bot just a fire hazzard.... the kitchen was minimal with not alot of fridge space.... More

The lady who first received me at the front desk was not very nice, actually, but the rest of the staff who were on the front desk later were polite and helpfull. It was the first time I stayed at a hostel, but I knew I couldn't expect much. Nevertheless, the bad rating is dued to the dust that flew... More

Don't expect 5-star quality when paying for a 1-star stay. If you consider this place's price in an otherwise ridiculously expensive city, I'd say the Royal Bayswater meets my expectations. Single and double rooms are much better than group rooms, though. All rooms have what you need, nothing more and nothing less. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, except... More

This is a hostel; expectations should not be very high. We had one night between two flights in London and chose to stay at Bayswater. This served its purpose as place for us to rest our head for four hours after visiting the bars a few tube stops away! Booked a private room with private bathroom. Great location, and beyond... I will never ever advise anyone to come here, it is an absolute sore eye!!!! I have stayed in a number of hostels but this is by far the worst place I have ever in counted I wouldn't even send my worst enemy there !!! anyone can walk in and out of the lobby, the staff there were absolutely rude... Travelling with a class of 32 students who slept in 6-8 people dorms. The dorms were in very poor condition, but once the students had gotten used to it, they served their purpose: sleeping and nothing more. Dorms facing Kensington Garden were unbearably hot from early in the morning until late in the evening. Single person rooms were more than... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
