Ok I must say I booked this place before reading any of the reviews, so I was a little on edge before booking in. However upon reflection it really is what you pay for. I stayed in a double room with a private en suite with my girlfriend and we were there for two nights which in total came to... More

Rooms were extremely small and beds were not in a good condition. Clean sheets but not so sure about the duvet that was already on the bed and left when someone vacated the room and was not cleaned in between. Bathroom was also dirty and shower did not work well at all- more water sprayed out than came out of... More

Hostel easy to find - right next to tube stop 1st impressions Clean, open plan reception, BUT staff not very welcoming, seemed to be more interested in talking to each other rather than acknowledging us..!! Lift doesn't work.. but that's not a big deal Had a Twin RM on top floor (4th) great RM, nice soft beds, flat screen TV,... More

Stayed at the royal bayswater on the 17th sept. I booked a private room en suite through hostel bookers for £40. After reading the reviews and considering the price, I was very pleasantly surprised. The location is excellent and the hostel is very easy to find. Lots of shops and bars in the surrounding area. Reception was efficient and functional.... More

The staff at this hotel are very unhelpful. Upon arrival no bed was assigned to me as the receptionist advised me to "choose a bed which appeared to be free" and if someone happens to return and find me in their bed "they will usually come and speak to reception then we can advise them to choose another bed"... seriously,... This was one of the worst hostel stays I've ever experienced. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The £10 key deposit had not been mentioned prior to arrival. The dorm room was tiny, and stiflingly hot. There were few power outlets and there was little room to get dressed, not even in the bathroom. The bathroom door was locked from... More

Exactly what I was looking for - place to sleep close to the center in the best price possible. To be honest I was surprised how poor equiped rooms are. Just beds and a bin. I've seen many hostels and there used to be at least a chair, some bedsite cabinets - but it's not so bad. We had a... More

This hostel is in a good location very near both Queensway and Bayswater stations. The staff are helpful. The room was fine for 6 people though not very big and no lockers in the room. The worst thing about the room in the hostel was the heat. There was zero ventillation and it was so stuffy. The 6 of us... More

The best thing about this place is the location. Across from Hyde park and close to all central places worth going to. But... The beds are metal frame and very squeeky, matresses are thin, rooms are hot, bathrooms are tiny and no ventilation so they stay wet for ages. But the cleaners are there every day changing the floor towel... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
