I stayed at South Place recently for an extended period of time on business. The staff made me feel right at home. I have to especially note that Francesco from Room Service became a familiar face and a wonderful part of my stay. As long as this hotel keeps people like Francesco, I will continue to stay here.

This is my perfect type of hotel when traveling to a big city. From Heathrow it was a short train ride from terminal 5 to Paddington Station, then a 20pound cab ride. This is not the most accessible hotel but for me it was well worth the time. I arrived at about 8:30am on Sunday and was greeted with a... More

Had a great stay in October 2014. No complaints whatsoever, recommended in every way. We had a barking dog during our first night at the hotel, but the front desk sorted that out quickly when we called them. We recommend the Wilson rooms, spacious and gorgeous.

I took my partner here to celebrate her 30th birthday in London. We were surprised to find out that the hotel staff had upgraded us free of charge to a better room and even delivered a birthday cake and birthday card which was hand signed by the concierge team. The service and hospitality provided by friendly and helpful staff was... More

Beautiful place tucked away in a side street. Would never have known this place existed if it wasn't for my friend taking me. We wanted to go on the roof terrace as it was a lovely sunny day but they don't open it till 5pm :( not sure why but seems silly. My friend said every time she has visited... More

A proper boutique hotel with interesting decor, helpful staff and a distinctive atmosphere. Small enough to be friendly but still has everything a business traveler needs. A far better bet than the Hyatt's faux-boutique offering nearby.

A trendy boutique hotel in London with excellent service. All the staffs are friendly with nice outlook. The room facility is excellent with luxury provision: B&O TV, extra soft and thickness towel, clean bedsheets, etc. Highly recommend for staying in London!

I find this place trendy and stylish. My room was luxurious with an impeccable bed and linens. Lovely pillows! Well decorated and thoughtful of guests needs. The goodies in the mini bar are always welcomed. Reception was very efficient and friendly. The bar is very trendy and busy with plenty of funky cocktails on the menu. We were there during... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
