This isn't a Hilton, it's not even a Holiday Inn. But if you are looking for something above a shared hostel, this is right up your alley. There is a bed and shower in the room and multiple (single stall) bathrooms shared on the floor. There isn't a great deal of space, but you are in central London, why do... More

If the expression "budget hotel, Russell Square area" fills you with dread prepare for a pleasant surprise. The Lancaster is one of five 'sister hotels' in Bedford Place and at an average of £86 per night is great value for money. We upgraded and were given a huge suite overlooking the garden. Loads of wardrobe / drawer space, new TV,... More

The hotel is on a street of Edwardian houses that appear to all have been converted into hotels. You have to ring a bell to get in and they open the door without verbally checking who you are so I don't really see the point. The decor is fine, in the reception area there are comfy sofas and a desk... More

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The furnishings are bare and smelly. The walls are thin, I could hear my neighbour's bathroom bodily functions. The reception staff need a serious course on hospitality, they are rude and unhelpful. Would NEVER stay here again.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights at The Lancaster Hotel which is part of the Grange Hotel Group (the Group have several hotels within a short distance of each other in this area). It is a smallish hotel and on first impression it looked tired . The furniture looked as if it had seen better days . In... More

My husband and I stayed here last year and overall it was very pleasant experience but I have to say that it does look slighly outdated at the moment. It was comfortable and the views of London were great. Staff were very friendly and it was very clean. Would stay here again as it is right by the tube station... More

We stayed for one night and had secured a good price with a late booking. We booked a double with en-suite and the room was spacious and well equipped and had high ceilings and windows looking out to a garden - ground floor room 2. The bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. The en-suite was also very clean,... More

Very nice hotel and quite reasonably priced (compared to other London properties). Rooms are not large, but most have beautiful views over Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park (the hotel has 18 floors). If more spacious accomodations are desired, I recommend one of the suites. The difference in price is about 85 pounds and well worth it. Besides the lovely views,... More

The Lancaster is part of a small group of hotels referred to by the Grange as its townhouses. I made a last-minute decision to book a room in London and was really surprised to find a double room at the Lancaster on their main site for just £60. It was made very clear that there wasn't a bathroom but a... More
