This hotel is a one minute walk to Lancaster Gate station(Central line) and there are buses across the road that take you to central London in 5-10 minuets (we used bus 94 that took you to Oxford street) We stayed there for five nights and the rooms are big clean warm and comfy, on the tenth floor with nice views... We booked this hotel purely for its location as we were visiting the Theatre and wanted somewhere close. It was perfect. We had a double bedroom with en suite shower and shared bathroom. overlooked the Gardens. Totally adequate for a short stay. The staff were helpful and polite although foreign. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The... More

The hotel's outside is a lovely building with reasonably good decoration and facilities. I booked a single room which was ideal as a brief crash pad after a late night. There was a decent shower in the room but no toilet so if you need a pee in the night don't forget to take your key card! It's location is... More

i agree with the previous reviewer. Its a con.I booked the hotel on Last minute.com and am sure it was advertised as 4 stars. It now appears to have gone to three on their site. the details of sharing a toilet with two other rooms is in the minutest detail and did not even register until i was checking in. You have... More

I'm an avid traveler, and have been all over the Northern Hemisphere, and this is BY FAR, the worst hotel I've ever stayed at... period! In all honesty though, I didn't even stay there because after 2 hours, I'd had enough. I booked a 3-day stay at The Lancaster, sight unseen from a travel site, and to be honest, they... More

Just an overnight stay after attending a function. Was given a room with a great view across the park with the Shard, London Eye etc in the distance. Check in was good (nice and friendly) as was check out, food at the function was excellent. All staff were very polite and professional. I guess I got unlucky as I planned... More

We had decided to visit the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and this hotel was just a short walk away. The rooms were pleasant, comfortable and our room had a fantastic view over Hyde park and the London skyline. The stay included a hot English breakfast buffet which was hot, plentiful and just what we needed for a busy Saturday... More

We stayed there for a couple of nights in September, first class, comfortable room. 200 yards from the Italian Gardens within Hyde Park, lovely for a pre dinner stroll. Next to Lancaster Gate tube station

The location of The Lancaster London can't be beat! On the North side of Hyde Park and within a 2 minute walk of Lancaster Gate tube station on the central line is ideal! We stayed there for 4 nights in November. The room is cozy, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom of adequate size. They had American outlets which worked... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
