Stayed one night for Freemason evening party and everything from valet parking, pleasant staff, good food and ideal location could not be faulted.Slightly misleading to find by car as satnav takes you to Lancaster gate hotel which is about mile away.

I thought that the days of shared toilets in London were long gone - wrong!!! But the going rate to upgrade to a room with a full en-suite at this hotel is £36 per night. Having managed this, the superior room that I got was clean and in good state of decoration, but in the basement and had the smallest... More

The hotel is very impressive from the outside, but when you enter, it is very plush and very impressive. The hotel staff are extremely polite and helpful. Our check in was quick, and within less than 5 minutes we were in our room. This was clean and nice, not quite as impressive as downstairs but ok. Breakfast was very nice,... More

I got a last minute reservation here when delayed overnight at Heathrow. Close to tube - Russell Square. An easy walk. Great hotel for a last minute overnight. Very helpful desk staff both on arrival and departure. Very good late night room service meal.

Stayed in Lancaster a few days. As another reader says, if you want to relive your student years, with shabby furniture, awful curtains etc ... yes, pickup this hotel! I have paid around 110 GBP per night, and honestly you can find better at this price. This is the problem with London, you never know what you will get ...... More

I looked for a centrally located hotel in London on a business trip, and the lastminute site got me this one. It is indeed lovely and clean, and a big room and conveniently located close to Holborn tube. But I didn't know what a semi en-suite was -- it means you have your own shower and washbasin in your room... More

My room reminded me of a bedroom in a shared university house - shabby furniture, dowdy curtains, magnolia walls, flickering light, and a sink in the corner. No en suite toilet. If you want to re-live your university days, then this may be the place for you. Otherwise don't bother. I definitely will not be staying here again.

My Mum and I came to London for the weekend to celebrate both of our birthdays. We chose the Lancaster due to its location and my Mum had stayed before and appreciated the fair price. Upon arrival we were greeted with birthday wishes (every member of staff knew and acknowledged that it was our birthday throughout the whole stay which... More

Stayed for a night on business. Friendly reception. Nice meal in the Thai restaurant, but too soft bed and too warm room didn't allow for a good nights sleep................ But overall ok.................

Stayed in this hotel one night. The room was nice, clean and very large and the staff helpful. The bathroom was a bit dated but not in a way that seriously diminished the experience. The area is quiet though it is in central London.
