Prior to going I had heard some poor reports about the surrounding area which concerned me as I was visiting with my teenage daughter. However these reports were unfounded. The hotel is a five minute walk from Whitechapel tube station which is ideal. The rooms are compact yet functional. They are also very clean which is a must for me.... More

Came here for the first time with my husband and kids. Price is affordable. Spacious, clean rooms and friendly staff. However wifi extremely slow but free. Tasty breakfast for a good price. Overall, had an excellent stay and may come back again.

This hotel advertises that it has free wifi access. The problem is that over half the time the wifi doesn't work at all. It isn't just a short drop in the internet, it usually lasts for hours. When the wifi does work it is at about the same speed as dial-up internet. This seems to be a regular occurrence beyond... More

We chose this because it was within our price range and available on the dates we wanted to stay and I'd be more than happy to stay here again. It's a short walk from a few tube stations - we initially went to Aldgate but then used Aldgate East because it was slightly closer by a few hundred metres but... More

It was possible to have a simple breakfast for GBP 4.75. Wifi worked well. Hotel is not too far from metro stations Whitechapel and Aldgate East. Staff was friendly, but no more than that. Luggage could be stored for a small fee. Room was small but had a convenient lay-out. Especially on the second day, the temperature of the shower... More

Our first stop on our trip was in London and the room was perfect for my husband and I. I read a few reviews about the shower and bathroom being out in the open. It was fine because my husband and I are close however if it was just a friend, I can see it being a little uncomfortable. The... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
