I will start by saying that for under £60 I should have probably expected what we got. On arrival, the reception was locked, we rang the bell but no one came down and there was a number on a piece of paper tapes to th door to call. I went to call and then someone came down. He was pleasant... More

This place is shocking. We booked it as we were at an event in Olympic Park. We had a double room with no tea and coffee making facilities, and one that smelt of a dead rat. We were supposed to be there for 3 nights but negotiated a refund after the first night. The final straw was being woken at... More

Room stunk of bleach but was still filthy. Shower curtain mouldy. Paper peeling off walls. Hole in ceiling with toilet roll shoved in it. No kettle in room. Breakfast is egg on mouldy toast or stale cornflakes! Disgusting! We refused to eat there! We complained and got a partial refund! Do not stay here unless you really are desperate!

I stay at this little hotel occasionally and I find the manager friendly and rooms I have been in comfortable. Since you can't make hot drinks in your room I go to the nearby cafés owned by Bulgarian or Algerian families. Breakfast is just toast, eggs and drinks but you can get full English breakfasts in cafes along nearby Romford... More

We stayed here for one night with our daughter and her friends to go to a gig at the O2. It was cheap and it looked OK from the photos that saw on Booking.com so went for it. The initial impression of the hotel is good, the lobby looks basic but clean with a reception desk at the very back.... More

We wanted a hotel close to convenient public transport and the major shopping areas in East London, and this hotel seemed just the ticket. We hadn't seen or read any reviews prior to booking, and on checking in it soon became clear that this was not your regular hotel. The duty manager seemed friendly and welcoming enough, but that was... More

The bay tree hotel was not our first choice but we were pleasantly surprised. Especially after reading the previous reviews. We arrived late afternoon via westfield and found our room comfortable and clean. Radiators working perfectly thank goodness as it was snowing outside. Water piping hot and a good supply of towels. Had a drink in the pub downstairs which... More

Would not advertise as hotel but as guesthouse. A hotel normally has a receptionist 24/7..this didn't. It is not dirty but shabby. Room was very small and breakfast was not full english breakfast as advertised. Location was central though.

Stayed in room 205 and although the room was small the bed was clean and comfortable. There was no welcome tray with tea and coffee etc. The main problem was lack of hot water. The first day I was told that someone had left a tap running and all the hot water had been used. The second day dawned with... More
