The location is great for exploring the southbank and quiet enough at night. We walked to tate Modern and The Globe in 5 mins The service was really excellent with very friendly staff on arrival and departure. The rooms are very comfortable. May rates were more than we were expecting, but still cheaper than elsewhere

A standard Premier Inn, clean and predictable, with friendly staff and good service. Had a lie in, a good breakfast and still got to Tate Modern just after it opened at 10am, which was exactly what we wanted.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel .The staff were all courteous , helpful and friendly. The room was great, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location was ideal ,on a quiet road yet close to all the attractions on the South bank. I am looking forward to staying again soon.

Don't pay stupid big named hotel prices in London. Premier Inn Southwark has everything you need. Great location, with the Jubilee line a 5 min walk away. Surrounded by great places to eat and drink, and surprisingly quiet for a great nights sleep. Tate modern a stones throw away, what more do you want. Staff were lovely too.

Stayed for 4 days and 5 nights during my trip to London. 1) The staff is great and very polite, always smiling, even at 2 am (when I checked-in) 2) The room was bigger than I expected, the bed indeed was great and I slept very well each night 3) The breakfast is not as varied as you might think... Good hotel, well located and everything clean and as you would want. Real strength was the staff who were friendly and helpful. Obviously you'd expect them to be but they made the extra effort in terms of putting us (2 rooms) on the same floor and just being interested in our stay being enjoyable.

Well-located hotel within walking distance of the south bank and mainline stations. Clean, large rooms and very friendly customer service. There are also great amenities nearby- 2 supermarkets, a pub and lots of cafés.

We enjoyed our stay at Premier Inn Southwark Tate Modern - our very first stay with the brand. We liked how it has stores and bus stations nearby, and it's own restaurant. Breakfast was good with warm and friendly staff - special mention to Ms. Elvira. The rooms are cozy, with the beds delivering their promise of a good night's... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
