My husband and I have stayed here on our last three trips to London and we love it. Southwark (pronounced "Suthick") is such a great location! Just a nice stroll to the Globe Theatre, the Shard, Millenium Bridge and the Tate Modern. Only a few steps from the awesome Anchor Pub and the Thames. The Clink Museum is just down... More

Excellent base for a family break in London. Hotel is clean and bright and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is quiet and so is the area. Breakfast is fantastic and the kids loved helping themselves. Second visit and would stay there again and again!

Staff here was really pleasant, always happy. Location is good, can walk to Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, to the left of hotel along the Thames. To the right of hotel, can walk along the river to Golden Hinde, The Globe theatre, Borough Market, Tower Bridge, and The Tower of London too. Luckily weather was cold but blue sunny... More

Yet another successful stay in a Premier Inn - they haven't let us down yet. Friendly staff, a well-placed Tesco and Sainsburys, decent breakfast and clean room. We have 2 kids, one of whom is a teenager, but we still require a family room, not shelling out for 2 rooms and we can do this with Premier Inn. The Shard... More

Clean and extremely comfortable. Good quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Stayed with my husband and two children and would recommend to friends & family. Hope to return again very soon. Thanks Premier Inn.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels for business reasons, but this time it was half term and I was with my 8 yr old son spending some quality time in London as a "tourist" rather than as a commuter. I have never stayed anywhere where the ENTIRE Team was superb --- nothing was too much trouble, smiles and a... More

Very good hotel for business or leisure. Have stayed at Premier Inn at London Eye before but preferred Southwark as it's a lot less chaotic. We stayed for long weekend as a family of 4 and everything was great. Location for walking the Southbank from Tate Modern to London Eye was a lovely 15min stroll. Very handy for London Tour... More

We just needed somewhere clean and quiet to lay our heads after a busy day sightseeing with the kids. Great location that was perfect for Southbank activities. The room was clean and quiet for the night. We decided against eating breakfast there but that was just so we could explore more of the area. Will definitely book again next time... More

Lovely clean quiet room in excellent location for central London attractions. Breakfast was good value (children eat free) and unrushed as hotel did not appear to be busy. Tesco express and Sainsburys local very conveniently situated by hotel.

The hotel is in a great spot, couple of minutes to Southwark tube one way and Borough Market the other. Rooms small, but clean and comfortable, reception staff really friendly. We will return to this hotel and area as had such a great time, lots to do around there, lots of good restaurants and bars. Much cheaper than alternative Premier... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
