This hostel is located in ideal place if you want to party but if you don't then it's not the one for you. The rooms were very warm as there was no ventilation which made sleeping very different. The other thing is that in our level there was only one toilet which was shared by a lot of people so... More

An affordable hostel, rooms and bathrooms are clean, just a water pressure problem in the shower... but water came finally :) The hostel is really well located in the heart of Shoreditch area, so really easy to get home after a crazy night in the area.

Never actually got to stay here because when I arrived the obnoxious little **** on reception informed me that I was 'too old'. 'We're not allowed to take anybody over 35' was what this charmless Antipodean oaf told me, repeatedly, in front of witnesses. In addition, this little **** literally sneered at me when I gave him my ID 'you're... More

AFTER paying for 3 nights they told us we had to split up.. 4 for us in one room, the other one alone in one room. There was no discussion possible and the girl ("Kirsty"?) was very rude to us. The last day 2 beds in our room came available, but again nothing possible. Finally the beds were still empty... More

I've stayed in many hostels around Europe and this hostel is just horrible. When we checked in everything went wrong and we had to look for another place for that same day. Horrible experience. List of the things that went wrong: 3 big rats in the room, bottles of wine were stolen, my room wasn't unoccupied and the manager didn't... More

We stayed at the dictionary hostel for 3 nights, a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Luckily for us there were two beds in the 6 person mixed dorm, Friday nights in summer are very popular. The dictionary is really trendy and suits the neighbourhood it is in. However it seems a little worse for wear, a few of the showers... More

My first hostel experience: I didn't have high expectations, but it definitely wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I didn't mind staying here, although I definitely couldn't have stayed any longer than I did because the room I was staying in was not properly ventilated and was unbearably hot (there was a heatwave in London the week I was... Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us: we appreciate the feedback. With summer in full swing we recognise that our rooms do get hot sometimes, and are actively looking for ways to improve ventilation. We apologise for the lack of showers during your stay - our new maintenance manager has managed to sort them out and... More

I've staid at the dictionary hostel for several times now during my final research and it has always been a fun stay. The location is great, since it is in the middle of lively shoreditch. This is partly the reason why it is also a bit of a noisy place to stay, but you can't have it all, can you... More

When we got to the hostel we thought it looked really nice, however when we checked in we where told we had been split up after booking with 12 other people. They tried their best to put us with at least 2 of our group, but it still wasn't really good enough. Then when we got to the room we... More

Thanks for your feedback, and we apologise for the difficulties you experienced. We do have a pest control company actively working to keep the mice out of the building, but their efforts will take a little time to work. We do try to keep groups together in the same room, but unfortunately sometimes this is not possible when we are... More

I had never been to London before but I knew it was a big city and was going be hard to get around. But this place is very close to the train station and the price was a lot better than other places in the area. I met some great people from around Europe and around the world during my... More
