We stayed four nights at the citizenM London Bankside and we truly loved it! We stayed in quite a few other hotels in London in the past and this one is definitively our favorite one. Finding a decent and not too expensive hotel in London is not that easy and often something will be missing: it will either be quite... More

We stayed at the CitizenM some time ago, and liked it a lot...and as we often revisit London for different events, we are always on the look out for somewhere to stay that ticks all the boxes: clean, comfortable, friendly, easy, good value and in a useful location...CitizenM does just that. We stayed recently for two days, and again found... More

This is such a cool place to stay. Loved the designer furniture throughout the hotel and the bed was huge and very comfortable. It took up most of the room, but so what? Brilliant shower too and the gizmo stuff with the mood lighting etc was lots of fun once you got the hand of it. One thing I really... More

Difficult to beat in terms of location, helpful staff and atmosphere. CitizenM will be my first choice for short visit to London. It's cozy, it's trendy and it's overall a pleasant experience. The rooms are equipped at the best to guarantee efficiency and comfort. But a special mention goes to the staff all, they really make an impact with their... More

Informal, friendly, relaxed, different! We were made welcome from minute #1. Free drink (any!) voucher, open spaces for mooching, reading, socialising. Rooms major on shower and bed, both wonderful, at the expense of trouser press and kettle, who cares? Wacky mood lighting. All good. We'll be back!

I primarily booked this hotel due to location and have since been back 4 times. I often have to travel alone and what I love about Citizen M ethic are the communal areas that seem to work perfectly for those wanting to work and those wanting to socialise. This is something I think the London hotel does incredibly well. The... More

We loved everything about the hotel. Cool rooms, small but with a massive bed. Great decor. Excellent tablet control for everything. Buzzy bar and reception area. SO much more fun than your conventional city centre hotel.

Ideal spot for exploring London at a reasonable price. No frills room but very clean & quirky.. Huge bed.. Great bar & very friendly staff. No reception desk but very easy check in. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

We visit London regularly and never stay in the same place twice, until now! We're already planning the next visit. It's fun, quirky, individual. The photo's didn't give me high expectations, but the photos just didn't do it justice. The room was smaller than we're used to and missed the little extra's like an iron or tea/coffee but this was... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
